Feel like a Scottish Laird from the moment you step inside the magnificent entrance hall with its grand staircase, wooden paneling and decorative accessories that hint of the property’s history. Roaring fires add to the feeling of grandeur, providing plenty of cosy nooks to unwind with a glass of something delicious. The elegant drawing room is a delight for the senses, with wooden arched windows, ornate cornicing and irresistible sofas to sprawl on in front of the woodburner. The kitchen is finished with a surprisingly contemporary flair and equipped with everything you need to prepare a feast, best enjoyed in the grand dining room. Each bedroom is thoughtfully furnished for a restful night’s sleep, decorated to complement the character of the house. At the top of the house the bedrooms have stunning views as far as the eye can see, including a quirky turret room with a handy washbasin. Tucked on the side of the property is the annexe with three additional bedrooms, two of which are accessed via a staircase.

Tucked away in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, this quintessential village is famous for one thing in particular – whisky. The Tomatin distillery is just 6.5 miles away from the property, offering tasting tours and even a chance to bottle your own. The village is set on the banks of the beautiful River Findhorn, which offers ample salmon fishing and bird watching opportunities.

Nature lovers and keen walkers alike will be pleased to find that the Cairngorms National Park can be accessed within 5 miles, easily reached via the A9. Described as a ‘natural playground', the park has plenty to offer including scenic hikes, 12 golf courses, water sports, winter sports and even a bridge based bungee jump for the ultimate adrenaline rush. The park spans over 1,748 square miles, so be sure to contact the visitor centre before you plan your itinerary. A leisurely drive is well worth the journey if you fancy a change from cooking, as there are several delicious eateries between Carrbridge 9.5 miles away and Aviemore 15.5 miles away. Tantalise your taste buds with some top-notch scran be it authentic Scottish cuisine, or something more exotic such as something sizzling from a tandoori oven.

The house is very large but warm and comfortable you can find a quiet room to do your own thing or all get together in the large sitting rooms the house has something for all ages. Kyllachy House is a beautiful traditional Scottish house and location. Wonderful billiards room and accommodation for large parties and families. A big dining room has views overlooking the Findhorn. We are returning visitors. Housekeeping and kitchen need attention.

Kyllachy House is an imposing building with fine views over the upper Findhorn valley. The a quiet is almost audible and the space is refreshing. Great for walking, cycling and wild swimming but with very little water the salmon fishing was nonexistent. Within 30min there is great golf and outdoor activities to suit virtually all ages. Beautiful character property with amazing views over the Findhorn river. My famiIy had a wonderful week using it as a base for exporing The Cairngorms and the West Highlands. The sports facilities are great and we enjoyed tennis in the grounds and relaxing in the garden. Lots of wildlife on the estate and the birds squirrels and deer all made an apRead morepearance. The groundskeeper is friendly and on hand for any of your needs, he couldnt do enough to help us plan our stay and give advice. Recommended! Hide
