This former workers cottage is set within 60 acres of mature grounds and ancient woodlands, offering spacious accommodation that’s perfect for family and friends whatever the time of year.

Set amid 60 acres of stunning gardens and ancient woodlands, this restored country house creates the perfect setting for a special family gathering. During your stay, you are free to roam the Cheyney Park Estate, which provides beautiful scenery wherever you look, no matter what time of year you decide to visit. This rural home sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms and is an idyllic country retreat within the Worcestershire countryside in Bishops Frome. There’s also a lakeside summer house which you can use during your stay.

 

The imposing facade of this grand country home gives way to a comfortable and homely space within, which marries classic modern touches with traditional features. This is a wonderfully spacious home with a ground-floor lobby where you can kick off your walking boots before moving into the kitchen/diner. This space is open-plan and dominated by a large dining table with chairs and a lovely wooden bench - ideal for shared breakfasts or lunchtime feasts. The kitchen is fully equipped for all catering needs and from here you can retreat to the snug, which is a cosy space with a wood burner and comfortable sofa - perfect for relaxing before your busy day ahead. The second lounge is located on the ground floor and also has comfortable sofas as well as a TV and games to keep the family entertained during the evening. The first three bedrooms are located on the first floor and all boast a contemporary style. A shared bathroom can also be found on this floor. The second floor is home to the fourth bedroom which can be made as a twin or super-king-size and has an en-suite bathroom. At the front of the cottage, you can enjoy the views from the patio area. Alternatively, head to the summer house (which is shared between two other properties) and prepare a picnic to enjoy by the lake.

Malvern Hills which has been awarded an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a short drive (approximately 10 miles from the house) and is highly recommended for those who adore the great outdoors. The Hop Pocket Craft Centre, as well as community shop and village inn, are all located approximately 1 mile from your doorstep and for more shopping opportunities you can drive 16 miles to Worcester, which boasts a beautiful cathedral, riverside walks and plenty of independent shops, restaurants and pubs.

It was a lovely, well appointed, warm and clean holiday home with everything you could possibly need. Extra fridge space can be found in the summer house which was useful. It is extremely rural although within walking distance of Bishops Frome where there are 2 pubs and the Majors Arms in the other direction. Absolutely delightful house, well equipped, beautifully decorated and furnished, and very spacious. Some things we hadn't even expected like huge TV with netflix. Lovely walks around grounds, and lots to do nearby. Absolutely would recommend this property which was perfect for a family get together. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of space for our party of 7 adults and 2 large dogs. We enjoyed playing with the boats on the lake, and sunset drinks at the summerhouse is a must (although shared facilities we found we had these to ourselves!) Agree with previous comments that the fridge is too small for the house capacity unless prepared to do regular food shopping. Otherwise this is a lovely, homely house.
