With four bedrooms, a comfy lounge and a dining area with seating, and a tranquil patio area, there’s plenty of room for eight guests to find their own corner to enjoy. Make sure you pop into Crickhowell (6 miles) and visit its thriving high street, historic bridge and the pub along the river.

Step into the entrance hallway of this traditional property, which is one of three properties on this working farm, and feel the welcome of warm country-style accommodation. Natural tones paired with rich woods and quaint furnishings are complemented by original stone features dotted around the cottage. Relax in the spacious and bright lounge in front of the TV or curl up on the sofa in the dining area in front of the wood burner with your favourite book. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm for everyone, and leads to the dining area where a table will seat you all comfortably; enjoy your meals among the crackle of the wood burner that sits in a fireplace headed by original stone. Muddy laundry from long walks can be washed in the washing machine in the utility room and there’s even a shower cubicle here. Enjoyed our stay, but felt the bedding could do with an update! One or two other maintenance issues, but they did not affect the stay! Glynn at 88, is doing remarkably well, considering he runs the farm together with wife Glo & son & daughter in law! The Farmers Arms, down the road, was good food, but we preferred the Bear at Crickhowell. Lots of gRead morereat walking and some on the flat i.e. canal paths and lakes. Definitely use what3words to find! Hide

Very happy indeed with the accommodation and helpfulness of the owners, who allowed us to postpone our original booking at very short notice (owing to illness). I would recommend the cottage as a great place to stay and a great location for exploring the Black Mountains. Very comfortable and quiet.

A wonderfully unfussy house which was able to comfortably accomodate us (ages 2 - 84) for a week. The kitchen has all that you need and we cooked for ourselves most evenings. Our meal out was at the Farmers Arms in Cwmdu. The food was excellent. We found lots to do in the area. Tretower Castle was great for old and young. Llangorse Lake was good foRead morer rowing and paddleboarding. We walked in the hills near the house, up from Crickhowell and up and around Pen y Fan. The paths are well kept. Hide

A really lovely comfortable house with absolutely stunning views but the kitchen and bathrooms just required a quick wipe over then we were very happy to be there. The owners were very lovely and popped round with a tub of homemade cakes which were gratefully received and very yummy.
