This fantastic 17th century farmhouse is set in a beautiful rural setting in Dorset, yet only a short drive to the coast, making it a perfect holiday retreat for all the family. There is space for eight guests to stay at this stunning four-bedroom property, which is located perfectly to explore Dorset, Devon and also Somerset. Situated in a picturesque and secluded location, groups will be able to enjoy some privacy in this characterful farmhouse. Whether you’re a group of keen walkers looking to explore the Jurassic Coast and East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or a family with young children, there are thousands of activities and events in the area to keep you busy. From appealing villages such as Lyme Regis, to bustling cities such as Exeter, your group getaway will be spoilt for choice with things to do here. 

The large and pretty enclosed garden is a fabulous place for all the family; with a children’s climbing frame and plenty of space on the lawn for a kickabout. Immediately to the rear of the house is a patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ to enjoy a summer’s evening together as a group. Should the weather not provide the opportunity for this, head to the warm and cosy living room. Here there is a wood burner, with a generous supply of logs, and plenty of seating. The kitchen is elegantly designed and has plenty of surface space, making it a perfect place to create, prepare and serve up a culinary concoction. There is one bedroom and a shower room on the ground floor, while the rest are upstairs. The nearest shop and pub is just 1 mile away so you can pick up anything you need, and stop for a quick drink on the way home.

The pretty and unspoilt village of Charmouth is less than 3 miles away and is a great day out for groups of families and friends alike. Spend a day on the stunning beach or visit the village’s shops and pubs before enjoying an evening meal and one of the restaurants here. The breathtakingly beautiful Lyme Regis is 4 miles from the house where guests can spend a day on the beach admiring the spectacular scenery or visiting the area’s museums, galleries and aquarium. Take the children to Crealy Adventure Park which is 27 miles away. There is plenty here to occupy all ages with rides, events and lots of animals to see.

We had a very enjoyable stay - the cottage gar exceeded our list expectations. It was also the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed at - there was nothing that we needed that wasn't present!

Yhe farmhouse was absolutely amazing, the only downside was there was no garden furniture or play set in the garden, even though it shows the on the photos and mentions them in the folders in the property

The farmhouse provides excellent and spacious accommodation in a convenient but very quiet location: a very good base for the fascinating jurassic coast. We would not hesitate to use it again should we return to the area.

We had a most enjoyable stay at The Farmhouse, it was warm, comfortable and very well equipped! While we were there we had rain, bitterly cold weather and snow but what can one expect in November/December! it was a real bonus having Netflix and Amazon Prime on the days when the weather was poor. A really unique farmhouse with beautiful furnishings and in a fantastic quiet location next to woodland (there was a deer in the parking area when we arrived). A fabulous find. The best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Beautiful spacious farmhouse. Superbly equipped. Warm and cosy. Remote, very quiet location but close to nearby attractions. Great for children with a large enclosed garden.

A very spacious, warm and comfortable house. The beds are great and the power shower downstairs is a real treat as is the super large bath upstairs. The house is very well equipped and we were easily able to cook family meals without having to wash up all the time. Lovely outside space and great to have use of campsite playground. We would not recommend it to someone of our age in our eighties. However we did enjoy the farmhouse for it's charm, quality and location.

This is a lovely and very large property, which catered well for the 7 of us. The gardens and seating outside were lovely (although our weather was not good enough to enjoy fully). Inside the dining room, lounge and kitchen were especially nice. Everything was catered for. It is 10 minutes drive from Lyme Regis and very handy for coastal walks. Had a great stay at the farmhouse. It ticked all the boxes. Although the property is remote it is in easy reach of local attractions and sights. Be ensure to take a pair of comfortable walking boots as you do walk through boggy fields, if not driving to any locations. As the house is old be mindful of all the uneven floor and steps in the house. ToRead more me this adds character to the property and did not put us off! Highly recommended. Beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful loaction. Well equipped kitchen with lots of helpful extra touches such as washing up soap, dish cloths, milk and kitchen roll. Fresh milk was very much appreciated when arriving at 8pm! Had a great week here, any issues were dealt with by the super friendly staff at the adjacent camp site (note that you couldRead moren't be hear any noise from the site from the cottage). Wonderful house! Nicely decorated, very comfortable and well equipped. Peaceful garden with good patio furniture/barbi. What a wonderful place. If you want peace and quiet, staying here will give it to you. We were greeted by the owner who made us feel welcome and let us know to contact them with any problems(there were none). The property is beautifully furnished and there was all the equipment you could possibly want for a self catering holiday.
