Whether it’s an evening deciding who’s got the X-Factor on the 6-speaker karaoke machine complete with lighting, or getting competitive at the pool table or air hockey, there is so much on offer at this former hotel. Bring a bottle of your favourite tipple to stock the bar in the property’s own pub and enjoy a private lock-in until the early hours. The outside space is also ideal for entertaining evenings with 2 acres of gardens with plenty of seating, BBQs for sociable evening meals and two indulgent hot tubs.

Step through the stone porch and double doors into the elegant entrance hall with original parquet flooring. On the ground floor, you will find the games room/pub with open fire, small kitchenette and a large bar for relaxed evenings. Stairs lead to the first-floor south wing. The large kitchen is fully equipped to cater for large parties with duplicate range-cookers, three dishwashers and two American-style fridge/freezers. Enjoy celebratory meals in the Byron Room where guests can gather around the elegant dining table and enjoy the views of Riber Castle. Also on this floor is the stunning main lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views, a cosy snug and a lounge bar. Spread across the two wings of the property are the 15 fabulous bedrooms all with luxurious en-suite facilities. Venturing outside there are 2 acres of gardens for picnics and games. Dine alfresco on the terrace or soak under the stars in the hot tubs. There is off-road parking for up to 20 cars and roadside parking is also available, subject to availability.

Set in the charming town of Matlock Bath, there are shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Lace-up your walking boots for a hike through the Derwent Gorge and along the Derwent River. Test your head for heights with a cable car ride up The Heights of Abraham and enjoy spectacular views from the hilltop park. There are rides for all ages at Gulliver’s Kingdom Theme Park. Plummet down the Drop Tower, plunge down the Log Flume and fly through the air on Rigger’s Revenge. Younger guests can enjoy Toyland and watch out for pirates at Smuggler’s Wharf. Head to Carsington Water (7 miles) and set sail in a flotilla of kayaks or sailing boats before returning to dry land for a BBQ or picnic.

Very fun place to stay. Could do with a refresh in some bedrooms and recommend bringing a pillow. The hot tubs, lounge and bar area were great. We enjoyed the place overall and its in a great location. 2mins walk to shops/ cafes/ pubs. Good value for money.

The house is beautiful. The views from the windows are stunning. The location is so great as its near the town and theres loads of walks/hikes you can go around there. The house did lack some cleanliness in certain areas and the water temperature was slightly hard to control in some of the showers but it was not much of a problem. A fabulous location for a large gathering of family/friends. The main sitting room has wonderful views and is very comfortable, the ability to spill out into the garden was also much appreciated. The location is ideal with so much nearby for guests to do.

The Temple was a fabulous place for a birthday celebration with 30 family & friends. Everyone had their own room and ensuite and the communal spaces were great - big enough for us all to get together. Wonderful house in a prominent gorgeous location. There were a few minor issues with the hot tub, karaoke machine, microwave oven and water temperature. But on the whole the house met our needs, was in a stunning location and everyone (29 of us) enjoyed our stay. Lots of space so it didn't feel cramped at all.

This property is in a fantastic location and very handy for the Peak District. The property itself is lovely, the lounge and garden have fabulous views and the kitchen is well equipped. We were a large family group of 28, aged from 2 weeks to 90 years. The property and facilities were amazing for our weekend stay. Communal rooms were large and spacious, bedrooms were well equipped and comfortable, bathrooms were modern and clean. The kitchen and equipment in there was large enough to cook for and feed an army. Beds- mattresses very uncomfortable, the twins not zipped together, room 3 extremely low. Wonderful weekend with a full house of family and friends for my "80th" birthday. Everything we needed in the property, plus wonderful views, lovely walks and amenities close by. Can recommend the Fish Pond inn at the bottom of the hill, great food.

We had a great Christmas week, with twenty-seven of us the house worked perfectly. The place was spotlessly clean, with great ensuite bedrooms and communal areas. The two hot tubs were a real bonus. Would stay again and not hesitate to recommend it.
