Impeccable interiors, salty sea air and panoramic views over the Tunnels beaches make for a memorable coastal retreat for a special occasion. This luxury five-bedroom self-catering home is set on a cliff-top on the dramatic North Devon coast. Grand in design and stylishly furnished, you'll feel revived and carefree after a few nights here.

As you approach this house, you're sure to make comparisons to the grandeur of a Bond villain's den, with its intriguing architecture and exclusive position on the cliff edge. Enter onto the solid oak floor of the minimalist hallway and choose which of the three ground floor bedrooms to claim as yours. The first is a king-size with stirring sea views and an en-suite bathroom to swoon over. There is also a spacious double, and a sweet twin room decorated to inspire the imagination of little ones; both have sea views too. There is also a beautiful family bathroom on this floor and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Up the majestic spiral staircase is a view that will leave you spellbound. Either side of the wood burner are huge bi-folding doors that open onto the balcony and reveal spectacular sea views and an elevated view of Ilfracombe. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner is bathed in natural light and has an atmospheric ambience whatever the weather. The kitchen is simple yet stylish and well-equipped for all your cooking needs, with a coffee machine to help make mornings even brighter. Mealtimes will be a breeze, with lots of space at the table and the ocean as your backdrop. Retire to the sofas after the sun has set, hook your phone up to the sound system and get cosy around the fire. If you're in the mood for a cinematic experience, descend the turret-style staircase to the lower ground floor where you'll find a TV and surround sound system; you can make some popcorn and hot chocolate in the hidden kitchenette. There are two more bedrooms on this floor with their own TVs and garden views. The south-facing garden is an inviting place to unwind or set up the BBQ for a fun-filled evening alfresco.

Ilfracombe is a small fishing town on the North Devon coast, with some lovely restaurants, an active theatre and the influence of a famous artist: Damien Hirst's Verity statue stands tall on the harbour edge. The Tunnels Beaches, hand-carved in the 1820s, can be found at the bottom of the cliff that this home is perched on. As the beach is private, there is a small admission cost, but it is worth it to experience a unique part of Devon's coastline. For more golden sands, travel 6 miles west to Woolacombe, where you'll find one of the UK's most beautiful beaches. The seaside resort is also home to the UK's oldest nightclub.
