Sleeping eight people and two dogs, you can bring everyone together here for a holiday to remember.

The route to this property is exceptionally scenic, and even as you drive through the gates and into the large courtyard you are greeted by greenery and pretty plants. Stepping inside, you'll find it's bright and airy throughout. Downstairs is the lounge, kitchen, dining room, and utility room, as well as a shower room for freshening up after a day of adventure. Take your morning coffee at the breakfast bar, eat dinner together in the adjoining dining room, and load the dishwasher afterwards for a hassle-free cleanup. Upstairs, there are four comfortable bedrooms, one king-size, two twins and a bunk bedroom. There is a spacious family bathroom featuring a shower over bath - ideal for when you need to lock yourself away for a moment of solitude in a relaxing bubble bath. A decked balcony wraps around the back of the house, so you can take in the sublime scenes from an elevated position in the fresh air. Coniston is a village steeped in a history of quarrying and mining. Today however it is a picturesque place with a small, but good selection of shops and wholesome pubs. Many call the village the heart of The Lakes due to its convenient location. It's popular with walkers, climbers and those that enjoy getting out on the water. Coniston Boating Centre offers canoes, rowing boats, motorboats and small sailing crafts for you to hire if you're looking for an exciting way to venture onto the water and explore the coves in style. Trek the well-worn paths that snake up to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston for views that will reward your climbing efforts. On the east shore of Coniston, you'll find Grizedale Forest, a vast managed woodland with trails that will delight explorers as there is a lot to discover on the route.

We found location and facilities to be excellent. Fantastic walks from the door step. Pubs and cafes all within walking distance. It's fair to say that Windrush is the first holiday cottage we've stayed in that we are already planning our next visit. Looking forward to staying there again in 2024.
