If you'd rather take to the water, you can hire boats on many of the lakes or hop on a gondola or ferry. Or for the extra adventurous, why not try some wild swimming?

We stayed at Town End Cottage at the end of January. The cottage is welcoming, homely and cosy. Great sofas, and lots of facilities and extras, kitchen well stocked, lots of nice touches such as umbrellas and walking sticks. We really appreciated the welcome pack. A lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location for walking routes and Cartmel village. Cottage was clean on arrival. Kitchen well equipped for cooking meals. Parking was a great bonus. Would recommend and book again.

Amazing week in Cartmel and at the cottage. On arrival the cottage was spotless. Lovely rooms and annexe. The garden is very nice with plenty of flowers and seating. The cottage is in a perfect position for local amenities (segway great fun) and Cartmel itself is such a lovely village. There are lots of pubs and places to eat around and about.

Just returned from an amazing weekend at Town End cottage. A very well equipped cottage in a great location for Cartmel and the surrounding area. Very clean, great space and beautiful garden.
