Watch the wildlife from the privacy of your wooded garden in Watermillock or step out on to the Ullswater Way to hike across the Cumbrian fells and walk beside the lake. This unique former schoolhouse offers sumptuous accommodation for up to eight guests across four bedrooms and is set in a highly desirable Lakeland location for anyone seeking spectacular scenery or outdoor family activities.

Dating back to the 1800s and originally a village school, your character home offers very generous accommodation for its parties of guests. Here you will find two inviting lounges, where your group can choose to spend time together or indulge in separate activities. Relax in one to the inviting glow of the wood burner as you watch Sky TV. Recline in the other, with your magazine or novel, or perhaps open the piano to play a few tunes. Your open-plan kitchen/diner also has a lounge area, with an additional TV and comfortable seating, where you can keep an eye on the children as you prepare dinner. With an Aga to cook tempting meals on, and a large table for dining together, this welcoming area is likely to be the hub of your home during your time here. Climb the stairs to find another great area, where a landing doubles as a games space. Enter all four of your bedrooms at this level too. One of these has an en-suite shower room while the others share the main bathroom and a family shower room. On fine days, spend as much time as possible out in your pretty garden, which is bordered by a small stream. Sit by the lily pond, take in the views and enjoy star gazing at night. Find ample space for up to six cars as well as excellent bicycle storage within your grounds. Light up the BBQ, pull up a chair and just absorb the silence.

The most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. This was our second visit and we will certainly come again. Brilliant location with shops and pubs in Pooley Bridge and walks from the doorstep. Recommend a visit to Dalmain for marmalade fudge - and the house and gardens.

We would change nothing, the house was superb for our needs, so well equipped and the location is incredible, some nice touches with an arrival pack, toiletries in each of the bathrooms etc.. Ullswater has a lot to offer with some superb walking and water sports all available which we took advantage of as a group.

Lovely, roomy house which was perfect for our group. We managed to cook Christmas dinner in the Aga with no previous experience- it was an adventure which fortunately turned out well. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the house, although its worth mentioning that the garden wasnt totally secure for the dogs.
