This wonderful holiday cottage on the North Devon Coast is the perfect escape for sporty families and guests who love a stylish beachside retreat. Sleeping eight guests across four bedrooms, including a children's bunk room, this charming property is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, abundant with farmsteads, hamlets, villages, and country lanes, plus family-friendly attractions. With a large enclosed garden and the call of the sea within pottering distance, it’s conveniently pup-friendly too.

 

Step inside your detached holiday cottage where a bright and welcoming hallway awaits with ample storage for coats and shoes. With a reverse-level arrangement, you’ll find a shower room and four stylish bedrooms on the ground floor, including a family suite with a children's bunk bedroom (5’6” beds) leading directly through to the double bedroom; plus a twin bedroom, and a king-size bedroom with four-poster bed, an en-suite, and a wall-mounted TV. Head upstairs to find the living area, where the well-equipped kitchen makes family mealtimes a breeze. Enjoy morning coffees and chats at the breakfast bar or unwind after a busy day on the waves in the open-plan living and dining room area with a large table where you can catch up on the day, or watch films together on the TV and DVD player with BT TV. There’s a separate WC on this floor, and doors leading out to a large decked balcony with stylish seating and hill views. The spacious enclosed garden features a BBQ patio area with a large picnic bench and a shower, great for sandy surfers and salty dogs. Private parking is available for three cars and there’s a beach, shops, and pubs within walking distance.

Visit the Braunton Countryside Centre to learn more about the countryside, coast, and the historic features of this ancient landscape (4.5 miles). Learn surf, paddleboard and coasteering skills in Croyde - you’ll soon be leaping from the rocks at Baggy Point (1.5 miles). Enjoy local sandy beaches or the golden shores of Woolacombe (4.5 miles) and Saunton (3 miles). The South West Coast Path stretches for miles here, and Exmoor National Park beckons (16 miles), perfect for wildlife walks along heather-clad hills with wild ponies, deer, and birdlife. Cycle or walk the Tarka Trail in Barnstaple (10.5 miles), a largely traffic-free route. Or discover Croyde’s pretty village with its thatched cottages, and the market town of Ilfracombe (9 miles) where you can enjoy local theatre. Don’t miss Ilfracombe’s rugged hand-carved Tunnels Beaches - a fascinating location packed with Victorian heritage and rock pools to explore. Giggle with meerkats and discover primates and animatronic dinosaurs at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (16 miles).

Entrance road and Driveway narrow, not ideal for larger vehicles. Could do with a bit of a refresh. Very clean and comfortable both in living area and bedrooms. Fabulous location with pub and beach just minutes away. I would recommend.

The house is in a really great location, and there is a really responsive host / owner. However, house does need some TLC and parking outside the house often prevents access to the driveway.

We had a lovely week in Croyde at Priory Stables. The location of the property is perfect with easy access to the amenities in Croyde and the nearby beaches. The outdoor shower was really handy for those who went surfing. The accommodation is spacious and had plenty of room for our party of 8 plus a springer spaniel. Great house in the perfect location! Great space inside, outside shower so useful for wetsuits (and a cold shower if youre brave enough!) and wonderful balcony decking to relax on. Spacious and clean, in the heart of Croyde. Ideal.this is the perfect place to stay
