Situated just a stone's throw from the glorious sandy beach at Camber Sands, this coastal family retreat is the perfect base if you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Relax and rejuvenate here on holiday to the sounds of the sea lapping at the shore whilst being just moments from local amenities and attractions. This generously sized property sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms that are arranged over three floors. Camber Sands is over 2 miles long and one of the few sandy beaches along this East Sussex coast where families can spend hours swimming and playing games in the summer sun. Then wander back to this delightful accommodation and enjoy a BBQ in the garden, to end what has been the perfect day.

 

As you enter this gorgeous family property, you are instantly made to feel at home. Bright and colourful furnishings provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. On the ground floor, the well-presented open-plan kitchen/dining room is spacious with plenty of room for family mealtimes. French doors lead out to the garden where a decked area provides the perfect spot for some al fresco dining. The ground floor also comprises one children’s bunk bedroom and separate WC. As you head up to the first floor you will find the attractive lounge filled with light from the French windows that open out onto a west-facing balcony. Also on this floor lies one super-king-size bedroom (that can be made as a twin on request). Leading up to the second floor you will find one super-king-size (that can be made as a twin on request) with en-suite shower and one double bedroom. A family bathroom with a bath and separate shower completes the accommodation. Outside, enjoy a glass of wine on the decking in the private enclosed pebble garden, chatting with family and reflecting on the day gone by.

Cambers Sands is a popular family destination due to its beautiful sandy beach located right on your doorstep. If you can tear yourself away from sun, sea and sand, the East Sussex coastline has much to offer. Rye (4.5 miles) is a picture-postcard medieval town, most famous today for its quintessential cobbled streets. Its pretty streets are lined with art galleries, fine dining restaurants, boutique shops and cosy inns for you to explore. Romney Marsh (10 miles) spans 100 square miles of glorious countryside and is a great spot for those who love the outdoors. A great selection of trails are available to walkers, cyclists and horse riders, leading you through historic towns, villages, diverse habitats and along some of the most spectacular coastline East Sussex has to offer.

The Lookout was the perfect accommodation for my recent cycling weekend with friends. Janet, owner of The Lookout, couldn't have been more helpful, offering us plenty of suggestions for cycle and walking routes as well as places to eat. The house is well appointed and the beds are very comfortable, including the bunk beds, I'm told. It's a short waRead morelk from the beach and there was ample parking for both cars and bicycles. Beautiful, clean ,well- equipped house. Loved the welcome pack especially the home made marmalade { my favourite} Wonderful location for the beach only 5mins walk away. Lovely, immaculately clean, three-storey house within a few minutes' walk of the dunes. Fresh milk and homemade jam was waiting for us on our arrival. A lovely cottage in beautiful location, comfortable beds & the information supplied by Janet was helpful. The weather was amazing whilst we were there however there is still lots to see & do in the area. The oven failed on the evening we arrived but we had the contact details for the maintenance man Seth who was an absolute gem, he kept us in the lRead moreoop with progress of the new oven being delivered. The property is easily found. Traffic can be busy and slow entering and leaving property, especially on sunny days with people visiting the beach which is within walking distance. The Pontins venue next door can draw people. It didn't cause us any any issue even with an event taking place during our stay. Fabulous long weekend at the Lookout as two families with four children under 7. Very well equipped house (kitchen particularly impressive). We enjoyed the homemade marmelade, the bbq, and the short walk over the sand dunes to the beach. Owners could not have been more helpful in answering a couple of pre-stay enquiries. Would love to return.

This is an excellent house in a lovely location only 5 min to the sand dunes and a beautiful beach lots of places to eat the owl is particularity good with excellent service. Rye is only a short drive away or about an hours walk and well worth a visit. The accommodation is very comfortable beds are flexible with zip and link in two bedrooms. A very well equipped and comfortable cottage within a few minutes walk from the beautiful Camber Sands. Also only a few minutes walk from The Owl, a very friendly pub with an excellent restaurant.

We were there for a weekend surprise visit to celebrate our Grandson's 12th birthday. We all liked the apartment for its interesting layout and generous space. Two good family rooms and plenty of facilities on all 3 levels. Highlights Saturday Dinner at the Owl and Sunday lunch at the George in Rye. Lowlights Friday Fish and Chips from the PelicaRead moren. The house is lovely and well equipped for a weeks stay. Rye was lovely and we had a great time at Rare Breeds Centre and local nature reserves.

We - 3 adults + 2 (15 & 8) - were all very pleased with The Look Out. It's well-equipped all round and cutlery, china and glassware are in generous supply so no worrying about running out. Pleasant, quiet road and good off-street parking. Well-placed for dunes and beach. Nice eating area out the back and balcony with a view at the front. Lots of boRead morexed games. We really enjoyed our stay at The Lookout. It was a clean and comfortable house with a lovely feeling. It was ideal for a family and we wouldn't have changed anything. The communications and guidance before and during the stay were excellent.

Great holiday home and good advice re ordering food to be delivered on line as local shops not great. The location is perfect for the beach and an early walk with the dog was less than 10 minutes from the house. A very comfortable townhouse close to the beach. We were impressed by how clean and well equipped it was. We were 2 couples with 3 young children and we all had a great time!
