This delightful stone cottage is a great base for families who enjoy relaxing, cycling, fun on the beach, scenic walks, or watching wildlife.

Set in the beautiful Devon countryside just a mile above the popular Victorian seaside resort of Westward Ho!, this delightful cottage makes a fantastic and idyllic holiday home for up to eight guests. The cottage is part of a small complex of properties situated on 15-acre farmland with a shared, heated, outdoor swimming pool. This is a great base for families, with a play area for children who are also welcome to meet some of the sheep, goats, pigs and chickens. Heading away from the complex, the North Devon coast has miles of sandy beaches to explore, with breathtaking cliff-top walks to enjoy, and some quaint traditional fishing villages to discover.

Accessed by a couple of outside steps, this charming holiday property features a spacious and relaxing lounge, with exposed ceiling beams, comfortable seating and a TV/DVD player, making it a lovely space to sit back, chat, unwind and watch a movie at the end of a great day out. Exploring further, the stylishly designed kitchen/diner is perfect for cooking and sharing all your favourite meals. Four cosy bedrooms can be found upstairs: two twin rooms, and two doubles with en-suite shower rooms, along with a family bathroom. Heading outside, the shared BBQ area has some picnic tables and garden chairs, providing a delightful space for al fresco drinks or a meal in the afternoon. You will also be able to use the shared 40’ outdoor swimming pool which is heated during the summer months. There’s also a shared playground for children, with swings and slides. Other facilities include secure bike and surfboard storage, allocated parking, and coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryers in the shared utility room. Surrounding the complex, there are 15 acres of shared farmland to explore, and children can meet the resident animals or watch the chickens being fed and eggs being collected.

The beautiful seafront of Westward Ho! is less than 2 miles away, with its glorious golden sandy beach and activities including surfing, tennis and horse riding. Westward Ho! has some delightful places to eat and drink, and is home to the Royal North Devon Golf Club, many surf schools, and the wonderful Northam Burrows Country Park. There are miles of walks along the tranquil South West Coast Path, taking you along stunning beaches and offering fantastic cliff-top views, or you could head inland to follow the Tarka Trail. Popular family attractions include the Milky Way Adventure Park (8.5 miles), The BIG Sheep (1.5 miles), RHS Garden Rosemoor (11 miles) and Tapeley Park (4.5 miles). You can also visit the bustling market town of Bideford (3 miles), the idyllic village of Appledore (3.5 miles) and the historic village of Clovelly (11 miles).

Amazing cottage spotlessly clean and tidy. Lovely front garden area, comfy bed and cosy lounge. Lovely furniture. Very well equipped kitchen. Superb location for investigating local beaches and getting out and about. The swimming pool was a little too cold for us but the kids loved the park area. The cottage was affordable, perfect and well maintained. Having the private pool which was not overlooked and located just a minute away add that extra zing to the cottage and holiday. We used it every day. Cascades, Bramlings and Goldings were the perfect trio of cottages for us with our 3 daughters and their young families. The children were able to 'visit' safely their cousins in neighbouring houses and adults could enjoy sitting round the large table in Cascades with a glass of wine in the evenings. A lovely cottage that was beautifully clean and had everything we needed. Pool was a little chilly, but the kids loved it. Location was perfect as tucked away in the countryside and very quiet. If you like long walks and tranquility, it's perfect. Lovely beaches nearby to walk the dogs and swim, and supermarket, pubs, etc a very short drive away.

We had a great holiday with our young children (6&4) and their grandparents. The cottage was well-equipped and in a good location to enjoy Westward Ho! and the surrounding area. Our kids loved the play area where they met new friends, Hugo the pig and Lennie the goat!

The cottage are well equipment and the beds very comfortable. The owners very helpful, welcoming and relaxed. Obviously very expensive for 1 week but very clean when we arrived and was perfect accommodation for us as great space. Parking was hot and miss outside our cottage which was fine for us but maybe older people would struggle to walk the hill with luggage as purshill cottage occupants were using the Casscade parking. Really nice accommodation . Excellent location -felt like you were in the middle of nowhere but only 5 minutes to Westward Ho and not much further to retail park with Asda for shopping. Pool was amazing and mainly had it to ourselves! Lounge v. spacious with 3 big comfy sofas ( although bigger TV would be nice). Kitchen very nice. A really pleasant week in a lovely setting, highly recommend!
