Set in the beautiful Devon countryside just a mile above the popular Victorian seaside resort of Westward Ho!, this delightful cottage makes a fantastic and idyllic holiday home for up to eight guests. The cottage is part of a small complex of properties situated on 15-acre farmland with a shared, heated, outdoor swimming pool. This is a great base for families, with a play area for children who are also welcome to meet some of the sheep, goats, pigs and chickens. Heading away from the complex, the North Devon coast has miles of sandy beaches to explore, with breathtaking cliff-top walks to enjoy, and some quaint traditional fishing villages to discover.

 

Accessed by a couple of outside steps, this charming holiday property features a spacious and relaxing lounge, with exposed ceiling beams, comfortable seating and a TV/DVD player, making it a lovely space to sit back, chat, unwind and watch a movie at the end of a great day out. Exploring further, the stylishly designed kitchen/diner is perfect for cooking and sharing all your favourite meals. Four cosy bedrooms can be found upstairs: two twin rooms, and two doubles with en-suite shower rooms, along with a family bathroom. Heading outside, the shared BBQ area has some picnic tables and garden chairs, providing a delightful space for al fresco drinks or a meal in the afternoon. You will also be able to use the shared 40’ outdoor swimming pool which is heated and only open during the summer months. There’s also a shared playground for children, with swings and slides. Other facilities include secure bike and surfboard storage, allocated parking, and coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryers in the shared utility room. Surrounding the complex, there are 15 acres of shared farmland to explore, and children can meet the resident animals or watch the chickens being fed and eggs being collected.

The beautiful seafront of Westward Ho! is less than 2 miles away, with its glorious golden sandy beach and activities including surfing, tennis and horse riding. Westward Ho! has some delightful places to eat and drink, and is home to the Royal North Devon Golf Club, many surf schools, and the wonderful Northam Burrows Country Park. There are miles of walks along the tranquil South West Coast Path, taking you along stunning beaches and offering fantastic cliff-top views, or you could head inland to follow the Tarka Trail. Popular family attractions include the Milky Way Adventure Park (8.5 miles), The BIG Sheep (1.5 miles), RHS Garden Rosemoor (11 miles) and Tapeley Park (4.5 miles). You can also visit the bustling market town of Bideford (3 miles), the idyllic village of Appledore (3.5 miles) and the historic village of Clovelly (11 miles).

well equipped and comfortable cottage in a nice location that gives you freedom to get out and about. The swimming pool was particularly enjoyed by our younger family members.

We had a wonderful stay in the Cascade Cottage. There were eight in the Cottage and there was plenty of room. The swimming pool is excellent, it is open air so a bit cool when you get in but you can also tell it is heated. The beach at Westwood Ho! is lovely, we parked at the Northam Burrows Car Park which is 7 for the day (21 for week). The Pig onRead more the Hill is next door and excellent, enjoyed 2 meals there. Also had good meals at the Thatched Inn and Country Cousins. Hide

Ensuite bathrooms welcome but a bit neat. Taller or wider people would find them a bit neat. Family bathroom available and good.
