Head to the nearby Hay-on-Wye (16.5 miles), a small market town famed for its large selection of second-hand bookshops and annual literary festival. With the bustling River Wye running straight through, you'll find plenty of relaxing riverside spots to eat and drink, and local pubs perfect for lunch. Alternatively, head out to the cathedral city of Hereford (21 miles). Here, you'll find a 19th-century abbey (24.5 miles), the world famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition at the cathedral, and extremely popular cider museum (20 miles).

The house suited us perfectly with 4 families and 15 people the bedrooms were just right and 2 beds to spare , the kids enjoyed the barn and it worked well considering the weather as it rained constantly on Saturday and Monday, Sunday dry what a difference Overall excellent choice for our family celebration of my wife's 70th birthday

14 of my family stayed at the farmhouse to celebrate a special birthday. The fact that there are no houses nearby was ideal, as we had a big celebration on the night. Beautifully spacious yet cosy house. We're a big family group ranging from 7-70yrs old & all enjoyed their stay. It was very clean & there was a lovely welcome basket on arrival. All the bedrooms are spacious but the large king-size bedroom at the front of the house on the first floor is particularly grand & has a lovely ensuite bathroom with roll-Read moretop bath & separate shower cubicle. We visited for a family Christmas. The house was warm and welcoming and so beautifully decorated for Christmas it felt quite magical. Our group ranged in age from 12-80 and everyone felt their needs were catered for. We had room to spread out when separate space was needed but could all sit together for meals and to open presents on Christmas morniRead moreng. Excellent property with plenty of room for adults, teenagers and younger children. Very comfortable beds in all bedrooms and the dining room and lounge areas had a good selection of chairs which were also very comfortable for all generations of our family mix! The play barn (lambing shed) with indoor tennis court was a huge success with our teenageRead morers (and young at heart adults) and was in use most of the daytime. A magnificent house standing proud in lovely countryside. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils and pots and pans as well as plenty of china, glass and cutlery. Two sitting rooms make for a tranquil multi- generational stay! The beds were comfortable, and the many bathrooms much appreciated. The house was perfect for a large group. Really well equipped (especially thankful of the 2 dishwashers, washing machine and tumble dryer), comfy beds, great kitchen and lovely garden for the little ones to run round in. Really, really clean too which was great.

14 of us stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a 70th birthday and 25th wedding anniversary. The house was extremely well equipped with masses of crockery, cutlery and glasses and the two dishwashers were very useful. All of the bedrooms were large with fabulous views and nice linen. Beautiful house in a wonderfully quiet and picturesque setting, very relaxing. Really like the way the house is simply decorated and furnished. The house was lovely - easy to find with plenty of parking. Communal areas were clean, light and well furnished, and the kitchen was particularly well equipped - not one of everything as we have found in other places. All bedrooms were a good size, bathrooms were clean and modern with good water pressure in all showers. Wonderful long weekend spent celebrating a 40th birthday. Plenty to do for both adults and children, in a stunning location. Huge dinning table and some lovely little extra touches (a generous gift basket!!). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

This is a stunning property and the pictures don't really impart just how much space there is - lovely big landings with amazing views from every window. We were a large party of 16 (11 adults and 5 children, plus 3 dogs), and yet we never felt on top of one another, there was always somewhere quieter to sit and admire the views. Beautiful location, and well appointed venue. Being totally selfish, leaving this review means the venue will be even more booked. Lovely rooms, great size, and the heating meant the whole building was very toasty. The kitchen is very well appointed, any equipment needed was available. Internet access was perfect, so we were able to plan and book oRead morenline all the locations we were visiting. Hopefully there will be a gap in next year's schedule for us to book again!! The cottage doesnt do itself justice from the photos. We had a such a lovely stay here, despite the British weather chucking its worst at us. The kitchen and dining room are so generous, and the covered outdoor areas mean the space is so versatile. Cannot rate highly enough.

This house is amazing. Plenty of room for everyone indoors and out. Amazing views, very quiet. Stagg Inn within walking distance. The beds are extremely comfortable and there are plenty of glasses and crockery for everyone and lots of games. We had a wonderful week away with family.
