This 16th century, restored farmhouse has been restored to impress. Here you will really connect with the land. You can gather family and friends, the dogs and even the horses can have accommodation on request. If that isn't enough space there are a further two areas within the courtyard to accommodate another five guests separately on application. You can spread out and explore inside and out, you will not be disappointed. This is seriously escaping to the country with gorgeous views, great walks on the doorstep, and traditional wildflower lawns surrounding the farmhouse. The local pub and shop are within 2 miles and the quaintly named Water-Break-Its-Neck waterfall and woodland walk is just 5 miles away.

This fabulous vintage style house is impressive; exposed bricks and beams, wood burners, wood floors, and packed full of large country chic furniture including sumptuous sofas and oriental rugs in vibrant colours, to compliment the white walls. The spacious kitchen is crying out for the master chef in you. It's warm and inviting with flag stone floors, another wood burner and the perfectly placed kitchen table, to sit your cheerleaders at, with wine and gossip to keep you smiling. Many hands make light work and once your royal feast is prepared, gather the tribe in the dining room, around the gigantic table, and enjoy each other's company to the max. The cottage is spilling forth nooks and crannies, character in the shape of narrow staircases, cute little windows and breathtaking views from each of them. The outside is a master class in prairie landscaping with wild meadows, grassy footpaths, original stonewall features and a heap of seating areas. A large al fresco dining space and a huge games barn with a pool table and table tennis are the icing on the cake.

The hamlet of Walton is a mile from Offa's Dyke trail and also 11 miles north of Hay on Wye, famous for its literature festival, bookshops, antiques and tea rooms. Follow in the footsteps of Elgar and Mike Oldfield who took inspiration from walking the Hergest Ridge, which is 4.5 miles away. There is plenty of parking at the property and two dogs are very welcome. Fishing is available on the nearby River Wye organised by the owner on request.

We've just got home from 3 nights at Hymns. We had a wonderful time. Log burners and open fires, sweeping views, lots of wine and comfort. It was the perfect escape into the countryside. Beds were comfy and the house was welcoming. Bear in mind that this is a traditional home, that means wonky floors and low ceilings, with all the charm that comes Read morewith it. We had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend staying. Great walks nearby, excellent communication, plenty of space to enjoy. Thanks Hide

House was perfect for our getaway, plenty of space for everyone. The games room was very spacious and occupied a lot of our time! Everything we needed to play table tennis was there already. Loads of great walks really close by within 10 min drive. There is a stereo system thought the house (controller at top of the stairs, perfect for wake-up callRead mores!) so recommend bringing your favourite CDs as it was great fun to use. Hide
