Spectacular 17th-century farmhouse set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beautifully restored combining a contemporary style with period features; a perfect retreat for a family get-together.

Enjoy quaint village life whilst exploring the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and staying in a spot of luxury. Perfect for a family get-together, this six-bedroom property offers space for ten to rest their heads, as well as fun and games for guests of all ages to enjoy both inside and out.

This traditional, converted cottage is, in fact, a Grade II building, retaining original unspoiled features such as oak beams and a working inglenook fireplace. It has, however, been modernised throughout with clean and bright decor, modern appliances and that all-important central heating. The property is surrounded by a stunning enclosed garden and kids will be excited to find toys such as a Wendy house, tree swing and climbing frame to play on, whilst the grown-ups will enjoy an outdoor dining area and a BBQ. Heading inside offers more cooking opportunities including an exciting traditional AGA, as well as electric oven for more conventional cooking! An abundance of space to relax is offered in the two lounge areas, one of which is well equipped as a children's playroom with a Wii console, piano and a selection of games, whilst the other has a TV with DVD player and plenty of place for the adults to unwind in front of the fire. Six bedrooms across both floors of the house are all graced with charm and decorated with countryside tradition in mind, featuring antique wooden furniture and floral soft furnishings. The stunning master bedroom is truly a highlight, a spacious bedroom nestled in the eaves of the property offering a large walk-in wardrobe as well as views of the surrounding countryside.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Six bedrooms - 3 doubles, 1 twin and 2 singles
  • 1 double bedroom on the ground floor
  • 4" step leading to lounge
  • Open fire set within an inglenook fire place - 1 basket of logs included
  • BT TV, Wii, and Piano
  • 6" step leading to utility room

  • Welcome pack of treats and bowl for your four legged friends
  • Dog bed and lead upon request
  • Football goals, Wendy House, tree swing, children's climbing frame with slide and other various outdoor games
  • Off-road parking for 4 cars
  • Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included
  • Beach 1.5 miles, shop and pub within walking distance
  • Arrival 3 pm

A mere 300-metre walk through the picturesque village of Colyford will take you to a riverside pub on the edge of the East Devon AONB, the perfect spot to treat yourself to a drink or a bite to eat and without the worry of having to drive home. From this point on you are surrounded by remarkable Devonshire countryside, including the 40-mile East Devon Way walking route that's famed for its wonderful landscape and scenery. If the kids prefer a day riding the waves, then head 2 miles south to the seaside spot of Seaton. On offer here is a beautiful mile-long pebble beach that makes up the fascinating Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Bring your sports gear with you or borrow kayaks and paddleboards from the beachfront hire centre, before wandering into Seaton to grab something to eat. The town also offers more tourist information about this Jurassic zone at the Seaton Jurassic museum.

A good selection of toys and games for children, plus there is additional equipment in the garden and barn to occupy them on wet or dry days. The welcome hamper is very generous.

This is a wonderful cottage, in a great location. Its very comfortable to stay and has all the facilities you would need. The upstairs, the bed rooms are all connected, but they do have doors. If you are in the middle bedroom - you would need to go through other rooms to get downstairs.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. The owner was very helpful, we were able to check in earlier than 3 o'clock, which was a great help. Would definitely recommend and would return.

The house was beautiful, clean and well equipped with an amazing garden. The kids loved playing out there and spent most of the weekend in the garden. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a fab time. Great house for two families. We only left to go to the supermarket and take the dogs for a walk so not sure about the surrounding areas. Well appointed home in a beautiful location. James met us and showed us around which was great. Gardens are lovely but given time of year and no children we didn't use them much. Not having a shower in the main bathroom was a little odd, but a very comfortable stay. Shop and cafe in village are excellent.
