Looking for a big group getaway to Cornwall where you can sleep moments from the sea? Look no further, this elegant coastal cottage is set in the 17th-century fishing village of Cawsand - once renowned for its smuggling activity. With sea views from most of the main rooms, you'll be breathing in the fresh salty air and living the chilled Cornish lifestyle in no time. Base yourself near great pubs, meander down pretty village streets, and make the most of staying right by the sea.

Taking inspiration from its surroundings, many rooms in this four-storey period property take on a nautical theme with dark blues, crisp whites and coastal details throughout. The cottage itself has been painted a baby blue, so you can't miss it when you arrive in the sweet village of Cawsand. It accommodates brilliantly for twelve guests with six bedrooms and five bathrooms, all finished in a fresh and contemporary style. Set on the first floor, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has spectacular views across the bay, which provide an atmospheric backdrop to an evening meal. The kitchen is well-equipped and even has three fridges for you to keep fully stocked with local produce, as well as a dishwasher to prevent any washing up debates. After the golden light of a sunset floods the room, the living space transforms into an inviting snug area. Pop on the wood burner, settle in for a film on the Smart TV with Amazon Firestick for NOW TV, or simply enjoy each other's company; there is also a selection of board games and books for you to enjoy. The back garden of this property is elegantly designed across various levels, so you can recline with a book on the deck chairs or be the life and soul of the party around the BBQ. There is also a very handy shower outside for washing off the sand after a beach day.

This property looks out over Cawsand Bay, a sheltered sand and shingle beach, popular with swimmers and adventurers looking to explore rock pools. For a slice of Cornish culture and history head to the grand country house that is Mount Edgcumbe, just 2.5 miles away. Set in 865 acres, this country park has evolved over 500 years and has beautiful gardens for you to explore. For something a bit different, venture west along the coast and visit the rescued capuchin monkeys at the Monkey Sanctuary in Looe (15 miles), or just walk around the darling shops and dine in the tasty restaurants of the village.

Trevarna is an amazing property in a fabulous location. Beautifully appointed, a perfect getaway venue for families or groups of friends alike. We parked the car on the Friday and didn't use it the whole week as there are so many places to explore and eat in, and the local shops are very well stocked.

Family get together to celebrate a 50th birthday. Lovely warm house with comfy beds and plenty of room. Cawsand is a quiet village out of season but we ate well in the Bay and had good takeaway from nearby Millbrook. Visitors should plan and take everything they need as shops are few and far between. We parked for a week in the Halfway House carparRead morek and walked up to the house - it is possible to drop off. Lovely dog walks and the boot room and outdoor shower came in handy.
