Situated on the edge of a popular nature reserve, this spacious property is full of character and makes a lovely holiday home for a family or group keen to explore the countryside near Poole Harbour.

This stunning and unusual property might be the roomiest “studio” you've ever encountered. Situated in a gorgeous, secluded location, surrounded by nature, it's the perfect place to choose if you're looking for an active holiday, perhaps with a group of nature-loving buddies and their little ones.

Arrive at the cottage, situated on the edge of RSPB Arne. The property used to be a working pottery studio and retains an artisan atmosphere. Head into the peaceful heart of the house where you'll find the first lounge - a cosy, sumptuous room with high ceilings and artistic touches. This is where you'll unwind and share those deep and meaningful holiday conversations. Or go through to the lovely kitchen and dining space - homely and rustic, with country-style units and mismatching chairs. The second lounge is a more restful affair beneath the galleried landing, with a writing desk and TV so you can get a little work done or relax depending on your mood. Along the hall are the house's bedrooms: a twin and a bunk room, for those wanting a little slumber party atmosphere, then from these rooms, two staircases lead to further charming bedrooms - two triples perfect for small families to stay together, and a double which can be made into a twin. The space outside is inviting and will begin your foray into the landscape. Behind the house is a gravelled seating area beside a raised bank, where dogs or energetic guests can stretch their legs.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

  • 5 bedrooms – 1 twin room, 1 bunk bedroom, 2 triple rooms each with 3 single beds, 1 double with 6’ bed which can be made up as a twin
  • 3 bathrooms - each with shower over bath and WC
  • Double oven, dishwasher, dryer, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave
  • TV/DVD, iPod dock
  • TV/games room
  • Garden with outdoor furniture
  • Off-road parking for 6 cars
  • Central heating and electric included
  • Open fire - logs included October - end of April
  • Wi-Fi included
  • 2 dogs welcome
  • Coast 0.5 miles
  • Wareham 5 miles
  • Shop/pub 4 miles

The property is located in a beautiful rural location in Arne, just metres from the RSPB Arne Nature Reserve. Here, you can begin your exploration of the area's wildlife, with walks and trails through ancient oak woodland. For even more nature, head 3 miles into the Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve, a broad area of gorgeous heather-covered moorland perfect for peaceful jaunts or climbs to get the heart racing. For some inspiring history, head to Corfe Castle, 5.5 miles away, a majestic ruin with a rich history overlooking the village of the same name, gorgeously stony and curled around the Corfe River. Or, if you'd like to take in some town amusements, try a trip to Swanage, a seaside town that will impress you with its range of modern attractions, shops and galleries as well as a Victorian pier and promenade.

The Stable is a wonderful property in a stunning location. There is so much space and light in the house it was a real pleasure to spend my special birthday week there with my family and friends joining in on different days. Although some aspects of the house do need updating, for a holiday in a beautiful and peaceful location it was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay in Arne. The Studio is in a great location with lovely walks straight from the house. However we feel a few improvements to furniture, showers etc are needed.

The Studio at Arne is a spacious and comfortable house, ideally located for any family that loves walking and exploring the countryside. Walking through the adjacent RSPB reserve down to the beach is a delight, and nearby Corfe Castle and Studland are also great places for days out. We had a wonderful stay at The Studio.

Good size house with adequate equipment but having stayed in many other homes in this location would be happier to stay again if the damp was treated

Good cottage but needing some maintenance. Fridge/freezer not working properly as doors not closing. Front door lock not working. Ladybird infestation of all metal windows.

We had a really great time over Christmas. The house is large, clean, well equipped and we enjoyed a big family get together enormously. One slight moan ... we had a great deal of difficulty with the lock on the rear kitchen door. At first we could not get in and panicked with the approach of Christmas and it being late in the afternoon. On a couplRead moree of occasions we could not lock that door at night and just had to live with it. We strongly suggest this is resolved with a locksmith. Hide
