Located in the rocks at Summerleaze Beach, this partially manmade tidal swimming pool was created in the 1930s to provide a haven for safe swimming. Upper Tamar Lake (3 miles) is heaven for coarse fishing, as it’s well-stocked with carp up to the mid-30lb range, while Lower Tamar Lake (also 3 miles) is a great place for bird-spotters, as there is a bird hide. Further afield, immerse yourself in ancient myths and stunning scenery at Tintagel Castle (23.5 miles), which is linked inextricably with the legend of King Arthur. While you’re in Tintagel, check out King Arthur's Great Halls (23.5 miles), which were built in the 1930s. And if you’re looking for the perfect place for a great family day out, check out Trethorne Leisure Park (26 miles). The animal farm, dodgem cars, bowling alley, crazy golf course and huge indoor play area are all sure to keep the kids happy.

This house was absolutely perfect in every way. It was so well equipped and felt like staying in a family home rather than a holiday rental. We stayed over Christmas and arrived to find the house had been decorated for us which was a lovely touch.

The house is lovely and fitted out to a very high standard. The location is right on the edge of the village and within easy walking to two local pubs and shops and the nearby beaches are very clean and have wonderful sand. A really lovely property I would recommend.

Beautiful rectory, completely and tastefully redecorated throughout, fantastic for dogs. Well-maintained, large mature gardens, a good number of bedroom/bed variables for different family groupings. Beach only 5 minutes drive, lots of local amenities in village within walking distance. Loads of space to spread out if people want to do different thiRead morengs but also cosy communal spaces to get together in (large kitchen with Aga, snug, sitting room, dining room). Highly recommended. Hide
