This large detached holiday house is set among beautiful mature gardens close to the pretty village of Poolewe, making a fine rural retreat with uninterrupted views of the countryside and the river below.

Dating back to the early 1800s as the Manse for the nearby church, this fabulous country house is the ideal destination for celebrations and special events. With six bedrooms sleeping up to 20 guests, gather friends and families together to enjoy the relaxed elegance of this substantial property. Enjoy cocktails in the dual-aspect drawing room as flames flicker in the woodburner or dine in style around the large dining table. Luxuriate in your private spa facilities with relaxing hot tub and sauna. Guests of all ages can get competitive in the two games rooms, including the games barn with table tennis and table football. Stroll down the cottage driveway to Kilfinan Hotel directly opposite for a wee dram of malt whisky or a meal of locally sourced produce. The shores of Loch Fyne are less than 2 miles away, where you can launch kayaks and canoes and swim in the clear waters of the longest sea loch in Scotland.

Boasting original features and period design, your elegant holiday home has a warm and welcoming feel. Greet your guests in the grand entrance lobby as the grandfather clock ticks in the corner. Socialise in the spacious open-plan kitchen/dining room where you will find three fridge/freezers to store your provisions. Linger over supper at the oak dining table, enjoying the warmth of the woodburner and convivial conversation. Take in the views across the grounds from the sunny conservatory or take the latest bestseller to the mezzanine snug for a quiet moment. Rack up the balls in the games room with pool table and destress in the sauna. There’s a handy laundry room on the ground floor to stay on top of the washing during your stay. Gather in the first-floor drawing room for pre-dinner drinks, games of charades in front of the woodburner and taking in the views from the balcony. Your rural retreat has six bedrooms spread across three floors. On the ground floor is the master king-size bedroom with Tudor-style four-poster bed and en-suite shower room. A king-size four-poster bedroom and a second king-size bedroom with balcony can be found on the first floor along with the family bathroom with double-ended jacuzzi bath. Heading up the stairs to the second floor, there is a king-size bedroom with additional day bed, family bedroom with king-size canopy bed and bunk beds and a further bunk bedroom with additional child’s bed. Outside is a large terraced lawn for garden games and picnics and a patio for al fresco dining. Feel rejuvenated in the hot tub and get competitive in the games barn. Younger guests will enjoy the trampoline, swings and climbing frame while guests of all ages can practise their stroke on the croquet lawn.

Lovely house with an interesting history. Comfortable and cosy with plenty of space for an extended family. Excellent response from the caretaker if needed. Weve booked the Manse twice now and hoping to return again in the Autumn..

We had a fabulous week staying at The Manse. The kitchen had everything we would need and the bathrooms were lovely. The amount of space for a big group is perfect and the views and walks were stunning. We would definitely book again - The Taylors

Very comfortable house with great layout and very well equipped. Plenty space for drying gear and worked really well with two kids (aged 2 and 5). We frequently holiday in the area and will definitely be rebooking The Manse.
