Sleeping 15 across 8 bedrooms, the main building of The Manor House dates from the 16th century, but the foundations are older still. The Manor House has been sympathetically renovated to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation, the perfect base for a group of friends and family to explore Normandy.

Enjoy time together in several communal areas; relax in the living room in front of the open fire, dine together in the well-equipped kitchen, soak up the sunshine on the terrace or even sip your favourite tipple in your own private bar. When you and your guests want to spend time alone, retire to your rooms, each of which has access to a bath or shower room.

With 2.5 hectares of landscaped garden and a pond, you’ll feel like Lords and Ladies of the manor as you relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historical property. The setting dates from the Gallo-Roman period when it was joined to the famous Roman town of Alauma. The old Roman causeway of Cosedia borders the property.

Centrally located on the Cotentin Peninsula (Cherbourg Peninsula), The Manor House is well-placed for reaching many places of interest. The D-Day beaches of Utah and Omaha are under an hour’s drive away and Mont Saint Michel and Cherbourg make for scenic days out. There’s much to explore on foot too, with the ‘Chemin des Douaniers’ (Custom Officers’ Path) close by, as well as the magnificent Cap de la Hague and the marshlands of Carentan.

SLEEPS 15: 8 bedrooms with 5 queen-size beds, 2 double beds and 3 single beds.

COOK + DINE: Large kitchen/diner with well-equipped kitchen. Outside terrace with garden furniture for al fresco dining.

RELAX: Sit back and unwind in the sitting room in front of the stove, or have a drink in your very own bar, complete with stools, hi-fi and TV with home cinema.

BATHE: 6 bathrooms: 2 with shower, 4 with bathtub or shower.

OUTSIDE: 2.5 hectare garden, landscaped with the help of Christophe Egon. It is split into several sections, including an orchard and a pond. Bringing together plants and trees from all continents, it is a pleasure to take a wander or enjoy it from the seating areas in different parts of the garden.

TECH: Wi-Fi available in all rooms. Hi-fi and TV with home cinema in the bar.

PLAY: Lots of outdoor and indoor space for children to play and communal areas to enjoy time together.

LOCAL AREA: The Manor House is perfectly positioned for visiting many sights and attractions in Normandy. Cherbourg is 20km away and the Channel Islands can be reached via ferry for a fantastic day out. History fans will enjoy a visit to the D-Day beaches of Utah and Omaha (30km and 60km respectively) and Mont Saint Michel is also close by for a picturesque day out.

For bucket and spade days, head to the nearest beaches 20km away, and stock up on everything you need at the markets and supermarkets of Valognes, 3km away. Attractions in the area include the Regional Museum of Cider and Calvados at Valognes, the planet observatory in Cap de la Hague and the Chateau de Pirou. The Saint Martin animal park at La Brisette is also worth a visit, where you can see animals from Asia and Africa.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY: The Manor’s proximity to the coast means you can enjoy many types of water sports, including sailing and wind surfing. Other nearby activities include golf, gliding, paragliding, hot air ballooning and hiking.
