Overlooking Coniston Water in the Lake District National Park, this magnificent property is perfect for large families and groups of friends looking for a unique and special home to spend quality time together. As part of a country estate, this exquisite property boasts grandeur, elegance and space with breathtaking views of the ‘The Old Man of Coniston' looming over the lake below. Follow in the footsteps of other great visitors such as Beatrix Potter, Arthur Ransome, Alfred Lord Tennyson and William Turner- hopefully, you will be as inspired by the location as they were. Relaxing on the private lake shore with a picnic, you will appreciate the tranquillity and natural beauty. Or you could use the private jetty to launch your own boat. With the charming village of Coniston 1.5 miles away, you have shops, eateries and the Boating Centre nearby, yet returning home you'll feel detached from it all.

Lovingly, sympathetically and immaculately restored, this property has many original features, whilst maintaining a fresh, contemporary style throughout. No expense has been spared with its classic furniture, sumptuous soft furnishings and top of the range fittings. Groups will love the large lounge with its enormous window, which frames the dramatic, panoramic views and allows light to flood in. The open fires in the lounge and formal dining room create a cosy atmosphere of an evening. The well-equipped kitchen, with two dishwashers and two fridges, makes catering for all 8 guests easier, and has the addition of a traditional oil-fired AGA-style oven. There is a utility room for muddy boots and coats. There are six stunning bedrooms in total, accessed from various staircases (some of which are narrow), including three king-size rooms and three twin rooms. There are various beautifully presented bathrooms, including a ‘Jack and Jill' style one. The grounds are simply wonderful, including gardens to explore and a dining area to relax in.

We have just had the most wonderful Christmas stay at Tent Lodge. The location is stunning and the property is incredibly well maintained and very comfortable. A stunning house in a beautiful location. The house was situated in the perfect location for a family holiday. Very family friendly for all ages (we ranged from 2 to 79!). Everything we needed was there and Tent Lodge felt like a home from home. We would absolutely love to come back again - and would highly recommend it to anyone!
