Located in a gorgeous rural area, this property is just a short walk from the sandy beach of Whitecliff Bay - one of the best beaches on the island. Set out on foot or bicycle from the property and make your way up to Culver Down, a stunning spot offering panoramic coastal views across Sandown Bay, where there’s a small pub and ice cream parlour for those seeking refreshment. From here, the coastal path can be followed south to Sandown and Shanklin or north to Bembridge. The attractive coastal village of Bembridge is home to a good pub, a range of restaurants, boutique style shops and a pretty harbour.

Inside, great care has been taken to both preserve this building’s original charm and inject plenty of contemporary comforts. Most of your time will be spent in the fantastic open-plan living space, which stretches the full length of this impressive property and features exposed stone walls, beams and ceiling trusses. At one end is a cosy lounge area with ample soft seating for all guests, a cosy rug, an open fire and TV/DVD. In the centre of this room is a large farmhouse table for enjoying group meals together. At the far end is a fantastic games area with pool table for those with a competitive streak. Glazed doors open from this room into a light and airy kitchen. Here you will find a range oven with gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There are three charming bedrooms on the ground floor, each of which open onto the terrace via French doors. The king-size and double bedrooms benefit from en-suite shower rooms and TVs, while the small single sits adjacent to a family bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. A further delightful double bedroom with additional single bed can be accessed via a quirky spiral staircase from the lounge area and boasts fantastic rural views.

Outside, a sunny patio area with garden furniture and BBQ opens onto a large enclosed lawn. This is a fantastic, safe space for enjoying summer BBQs and garden games with family and four-legged friends. Three or four cars can be parked in the drive.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A beautiful property with plenty of character and lots of room for families. Very close to many things but difficult to walk there along the narrow roads.

We had a delightful stay, with 4 adults, a baby, a toddler and a small dog. The photos do not do it justice with the space! The property was really well furnished with equipment and games for rainy days. The owner was very helpful and friendly, happy to help in any way. If you do not like walking along the narrow roads a bit to get to public footpaRead moreths, most places are within 5-20mins short drive on the island and there was lots to do with the kids. The cottage is comfortable and very clean. The kitchen is equipped with all that you would need to make a meal or bake a cake. The beds are comfortable and 2 of them look into the garden with doors opening out to the garden lovely I should imagine in the summer. We enjoyed using the pool table and we used this everyday.

The cottage had everything you could want for a week away. It was a shame the upstairs bedroom has so far to go to the bathroom and was open to the main room. But I guess thats what you have to accept in a barn conversion. Lovely welcome pack and flowers too. Thank you owners x

We had a fabulous time in a very well equipped barn. The main room was large enough to cope with all the twins bits and pieces and leave room for the rest of us! Close to a good eating pub and short walk to beach

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Stanwell Barn. The pictures do not do the property justice, such a fantastic place. The children throughly enjoyed the garden and the games that were at the property. The adults loved the pool table! Lots of equipment in the kitchen for meals in or alternatively we would recommend The Propeller Inn. The foRead moreod was delicious and good size portions. The barn is in a fantastic location, very peaceful and a 5 minute drive to Sandown beach. Hide

An amazing cottage in a lovely area of the island. We went for my mum's 60th birthday, so having the pub a 4 min walk away and the beach 10 mins away was perfect. The cottage was better than we expected with all the little touches, such as a spice rack and fully stocked kitchen. We plan to go back!

Quite simply the best place we have stayed in. It was high spec high quality throughout the property, and very well presented. All bedrooms were large with loads of storage space. Lovely garden to the front which caught the end of day sun perfectly. 10 minute stroll to beach and pubs. Perfect.

We had a really lovely holiday. Its a well equipped kitchen, spacious comfortable sitting/dining room and we all enjoyed the snooker. Lovely walks from the front door and a short drive to a surprisingly good range of shops in Bembridge (short high street which includes a small but high end farm shop to a Co-op plus a bakery, butcher and fabulous fiRead moreshmonger). The owners were very supportive when a member of our party was unwell. Thank you! Hide

Fabulous cottage, bigger in real life than it looked in the pictures. We had family staying at the nearby holiday park but the barn was great for us all to get together in the evenings as the table is so huge! And close enough for them to walk back after. The pool and billiards were great fun too.
