Immediately impressive, the entrance hall boasts unique wooden furniture and stone flagged floors, along with plenty of space to hang coats up to dry. All 13 of you will find space to relax in the property's three lounge areas. First up is a formal drawing room with regal antique furnishings and a warming wood burner. Grab one of the many books and curl up in an armchair with stunning loch views. Like any good country house, the property boasts a large farmhouse kitchen with an abundance of space to cook, dine and socialise. Cook traditionally on a large four-oven Aga, making use of the large double door fridge/freezer, microwave and two dishwashers. Just off the kitchen is a pantry, ideal for storing in bulk for longer stays, and a chest freezer in case you catch anything on the hunting/fishing excursions. The dining room boasts beautiful views and a large circular table, as well as wood burner for enjoying cosy evening meals mid-winter. Find a drying room for muddy boots with a washing machine and tumble dryer and a handy WC. Two of the home's seven bedrooms can be found on the ground floor, both of which can be twins or doubles. One of these has an en-suite with WC, bath and shower. Five further bedrooms can be accessed on the first floor. You'll find two twin/doubles with en-suites (shower over bath, WC) and a twin with en-suite (shower over bath, WC). A further twin and final cosy single. We had Easter week at the Lodge and had a fantastic time. The location is absolutely superb with an amazing view from the front and plenty of outdoor activities straight from the doorstep. The walking opportunities are great with lots of options. Arkle and Foinavon are a must, but for less adventurous walkers, the walk around Ben Stac (from AchfaryRead more) or also along the river are also highly recommended. The lochs are great for wild swimming and canoeing, the night sky is awesome for star grazing and it is a geologists' paradise. Best beaches are Oldshoremore, Sandwood Bay and Achmelvich. The (small) London Store, Spa shop (Kinlochbervie) and Bervie hardware store/filling station - all have very friendly staff and everything you need. The Lodge itself is exceptional: spacious, welcoming, very comfortable and very well equipped. Having a drying room, plenty of parking and a study were very much appreciated. The housekeeping were very helpful, friendly and helped make the holiday. Hide
