This private island venue can accommodate up to 16 guests, including children over 12 and is an excellent choice for memorable corporate events, stag and hen parties or even weddings. Formerly home to hundreds of soldiers guarding the approaches to Portsmouth, today the island is somewhat more luxurious and includes a roof-top hot pool, sun decks and a sauna.
With function space for up to 60 guests, the venue is well-equipped for larger events. Mingle and dine in your choice of three bars and three restaurant areas, which boast vaulted ceilings, original ironwork and fantastic acoustics or venture down into the wine cave where cleverly chosen mood lighting sets the scene for private dining experiences.
There are eight bedroom suites, each with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms have been sympathetically restored to retain this building’s military and utilitarian history, with exposed brickwork, arched ceilings and antique furnishings.
Outside, a wonderful courtyard features Victorian ironwork, red brick walls and arched doors and is a dramatic and exciting space to host a drinks reception with your choice of soundtrack through the music system. At sunset, there’s no better place to be than up on the roof terrace where you will find a hot pool, sauna, fire pit and sun deck.
