Once you're done relaxing in your garden then wander the 300 metres over to the expanse of sandy beach. The village of Machrihanish has a great pub and an impressive hotel and restaurant, both within five minutes walk of the property.
Walk in Paul McCartney's footsteps and head to The Mull of Kintyre (18.5 miles), where you can head to the lighthouse and peer across to Ireland. Or, stick closer to home and visit the Machrihanish wildlife observatory, where you can keep an eye out for golden eagles, minke whales, bottlenose dolphins and regularly sighted Scottish otters.
The harbour town of Campbeltown is just 5 miles away and has all essential services including two supermarkets, swimming pool and leisure centre and a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Catch a film in the beautifully restored cinema, famed as the oldest cinema in Scotland, or take a tour around one of the local distilleries or a walk across the causeway to Davaar Island. Ferries to the Islands of Arran, Ghia,Islay and Jura are easily accessible for those wishing to explore these beautiful Islands during their stay.Fishing licences for several local lochs are available in Campbeltown. Golfers are spoiled for choice with two world class links golf courses in Machrihanish plus several other courses within easy driving distance of the property. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy numerous coastal and countryside walks and trails including the famous Kintyre Way.
