A former watermill in a tranquil lakeside setting, Moulin du Ruisseau nestles within a wooded park in the charming hamlet of St Eloi in picturesque Brittany.

Sleeping 22, across the main house and the annex, the attractive property boasts an indoor pool and sauna, and provides exceptional accommodation for large groups of family and friends.

When it comes to relaxation, Moulin du Ruisseau is beyond compare. The indoor heated swimming pool is the perfect spot for a morning swim and is visible through a window from the kitchen offering peace of mind when supervising children. A sauna and poolside seating area around an open fire provide yet more opportunities for repose.

The living room features a television and pool table, while further comfortable seating can be found in the open-plan kitchen diner. With room to seat 22 guests comfortably, the dining area sets the scene for sociable meals, cooked up in the fully-equipped kitchen. While you dine, you can enjoy views of the lake just a few metres beyond the window.

Each of the bedrooms is comfortable and spacious, with scenic outlooks over the river and woodland.

Outside, the vast, fenced terrace offers a tranquil space for sunbathing, siestas or al-fresco dining, all with exceptional views over the lakes.  A barbecue, garden furniture and loungers are provided, as well as a small boat for forays onto the lake.

The hydrangeas, rhododendrons, heather, weeping willows and chestnut trees surrounding the watermill have repeatedly won it first prize in Morbihan’s ‘houses in bloom’ competitions. Brittany’s beautiful coast is within an hour’s drive, and the cultural city of Quimper is just 45 minutes away, not to mention numerous charming towns and villages in the close vicinity.

SLEEPS 22: 11 spacious bedrooms comprising 4 double rooms, 5 twin rooms, 1 single room and 1 triple room with 1 double and 1 single bed. 1 of the twin rooms is on the ground floor.

ADDITIONAL BEDS: 2 cots can be provided on request.

COOK + DINE: Well-equipped kitchen-diner including dishwasher, microwave, 3 fridges and 2 freezers. Dining area seats up to 22 people, 1 high chair can be provided on request.

OUTSIDE: Vast, fenced terrace alongside the lakes, with BBQ, garden dining furniture, sun loungers and a small boat for use on the lakes. Moulin du Ruisseau is set in a wooded park, celebrated for its attractive trees and plants.

LOCAL AREA: The immediate surroundings of Moulin du Ruisseau provide a peaceful setting for lakeside strolls, taking in the beautiful greenery. 200 metres from the property is the hamlet of St Eloi, with its granite chapel, and five other houses, one of which is occupied by the owner of Moulin du Ruisseau.

A bakery, grocery shop and café are 3km away, while supermarkets and more eateries can be found 12km away.

Quimper (45 minutes’ drive), Brittany’s oldest city, is perfect for a day out. Take your camera to capture the Gothic cathedral and pretty buildings, and enjoy wandering around, popping into pretty cafés and shopping for the traditional faience pottery.

Explore the fortified old town of Concarneau (45 minutes’ drive), head to Vannes (1hr 15 minutes’ drive) to discover the historic city, in fact, most of the must-visit cities and sights of Brittany are within a 2-hour drive.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY: Enjoy some tranquil boating on the lake just outside Moulin du Ruisseau, or head out to explore Brittany, where you’ll find all manner of activities, from walking along the pink granite coast to visiting one of the many amusement parks.
