Find peace and seclusion in this traditional Scottish lodge at the heart of the vast and magnificent Kildermorie Estate, perfect for getting large groups together.

Comfortably accommodating 20 guests, this impressive Highland lodge finds itself surrounded by the rugged moors, hills and woodland of the Kildermorie Estate. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and immerse yourself in the heather-covered landscape where you might spot pine martens, otters, osprey, falcons, eagles and owls, as well as red, roe and sika deer. The estate stretches across 19,000 acres, so whether you're salmon fishing along the river or taking a stomp through the woods, you won't run out of new ground to explore. All the local amenities you'll need can be found in Alness (13 miles away) and the extensive facilities and activities of Inverness are an easy drive, at 32 miles away.

Inside, warm colourful fabrics, roaring open fires and beautifully carved wooden furnishings lend the property its traditional lodge feel. Enter via the ground-floor reception room for aperitifs in front of the granite fireplace before moving through to the spacious dining room to eat. The kitchen is set up to commercial standard, allowing large meals to be prepared and served with ease – ideal for the larger groups which may gather here. Also on the ground floor are two twin bedrooms that enjoy the peace and quiet of being on the other side of the south-facing courtyard. Both boast en-suite bathrooms, and there are separate WCs on this floor too. An open-plan lounge is found upstairs on the first floor, where comfortable sofas surround a large open fire, the perfect spot to warm up with tea and toast after a walk. A further three twin bedrooms and five doubles are located on this floor, all with en-suite bathrooms making this an ideal property for corporate events or trips with multiple families. Wrought-iron bedsteads and claw-foot baths add characterful flourishes throughout the first-floor rooms, which are each unique and thoughtfully designed.

Enjoy ample parking next to the south-facing courtyard where evening drinks can be enjoyed while the sun sets over the Highland hills. In addition to exploring the extensive grounds of the estate, keen anglers can fish on its six lochs from boat or bank, as well as enjoying bank fishing or wading along 1 mile of salmon river (average 52 salmon and grilse per annum).

We have just returned from Meall Mor lodge having stayed 3 nights over new year. We were a group of 8 adults and 7 children. The house is fabulous. Very traditional and spacious. We had everything we needed and received a warm welcome and excellent service from Michel and Hani on site. Nothing was too much trouble. The road would not be the best inRead more the snow but otherwise it was fine. Hide

Fantastic bathrooms and heating. Catering equipment also very good. Great to have such a hospitable gamekeeper on site and appreciated the area for shooting clays. Wifi was not available to any useable degree. Suggest this is made clear on the information as we could have downloaded films for our projector at home had we known. It was too late onceRead more we were there when nothing more than e-mails and texts can be downloaded via the estate's satellite system. Also without wifi we should have left the landline number with those looking after livestock for us at home. The landline telephone did not accept 20p or 1 coins. Lovely, in a way, to be offline for Christmas but advance warning is needed. Would also suggest that with accommodation for 20, the lodge needs seating for more than 8 (or a slightly over familiar 10) in the drawing room. A stereo that only plays CDs is of absolutely no use to anyone these days. Again, had we known we could have looked out some old CDs but everyone's car has moved on technology wise so no-one had any with them. Dogs that kept us awake were not ideal. They barked intermittently whenever our dogs were in the kennels. Ours all live outside at least part time at home and loved the heated kennels. In fact they were not at all thrilled when I had to wake them up and move them to car boots and the boot room in the middle of the night to stop the estate dogs barking for the third night. We had given up on the kennels at night and put all ours in the cars by the fourth night. It might be worth moving the guest kennels to the other side of the lodge if this also happens when the under keeper, whose dogs were the ones barking at night, is at home. He was away for our stay so this may not be the case generally. Hide

A great, wonderful and peaceful place to relax. Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life then definitely the right place to get away to! Wi-fi was a bit of an issue but wouldn't really consider it a major factor.
