An exceptional country mansion at the end of a long private drive set in 22 acres with 5 acres being gardens. Situated in the Herefordshire countryside, this is the perfect venue for a special function such as a family birthday, a friends’ reunion or a pre-wedding celebration. Sleeping up to 22 guests in luxury, this is a superb choice for a social week or weekend in beautiful surroundings. The property was originally built in the 14th century and many of its original features have been retained over various phases of its restoration.  These design aspects include wood-panelled walls, stucco ceilings and handsome feature fireplaces in nearly every room. Boasting all the comforts you would expect to find in a boutique hotel including comfortable bedrooms, spacious shower rooms and cosy sofas.

Throughout the house, you will discover some lovely spaces to relax or party in. On the ground floor, there are three large living areas: a lounge with an open fire; the inner hall which can be used as a reception room to enjoy arrival drinks with your function guests and the snug – a more compact area designed for comfort. You can curl up in front of the TV and read a book – it can also double as a room where children can play too. The dining room is a splendid place for larger scale gatherings – the kitchen is also fully-equipped with handy conveniences and lots of workspace for caterers to implement.  The library is a great escape within the property: besides the vast collection of books to pore over there is a pool table for those who love a bit of light competitiveness. There is also a games room with a table tennis arrangement and a cinema area. The in-house bar is free to use unstaffed and stocked, there is an extra charge if staff are required to serve. Arrangements can be made when you place your initial booking so that you can make the most of the house during your holiday.

The house sits within a 5-acre estate – much of which is landscaped to showcase the terraces and expansive lawns. There is a summer house, an outdoor pizza oven and an orchard too with many more delightful features to encounter. The gardens are a wonderful place to wander, for children there is a treasure hunt/nature trail along with a bagatelle of outdoor games like Giant Jenga, croquet and a child’s swing.

The estate is 6 miles south of Leominster in Herefordshire and day trips to Worcester (25 miles) and Hereford (9.5 miles) are worthwhile too. Good transport links to the national road and rail networks are also available from the property.

Hereford is well known for producing some of the UK’s best food and drink. From beef to cider, many of Hereford’s chefs make the most of the ingredients on their doorstep. The countryside around Hereford is remarkably unspoilt and perfect for hiking, wild swimming and cycling adventures.

Near Hereford, the walk passes Capler Camp, where you’ll discover the imposing ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort, with breathtaking views of the valley below. For a glimpse into the city’s fascinating history and to see some of the country’s finest examples of ancient architecture visit Hereford Cathedral. At the award-winning Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, you’ll find a spectacular medieval map of the world and a collection of intriguing artefacts.
