The property stands alone at the end of a private farm track in a delightful setting on Dartmoor.

Set just a five-minute walk from the exquisite River Dart and surrounded by its own fields and woodland, families and friends will adore this idyllic four-bedroom farmhouse. The river is a playground for all ages and a paradise for wildlife - fish, swim, kayak, birdwatch or picnic amidst rejuvenating verdant glades, lulled by babbling brooks. All manner of family fun can be enjoyed at the River Dart Country Park (2 miles), open from Easter to September, from aerobie and canoeing to treetop climbs, zip wires and water zorbing. Hop aboard the Dartmoor Railway at Okehampton (30 miles) for themed days and nights for all the family. Join a Dartmoor llama walk near Widdecombe-in-the-Moor (5 miles), or delight in Pennywell Farm's half-hourly shows and displays, rides and miniature pigs (8 miles, February-October). The Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary (6 miles) is enchanting whether you're nine or ninety, and Buckfast Abbey is sublime.

Approaching the farmhouse through the private gate and drive, you'll immediately sense the uniqueness of this blissful, secluded location. Step through the old stone porch into the lobby and hallway, and feast your eyes on the rural allure of the dining room, with its deep walls and window seats, lamp sconce, Welsh dresser and leafy views. There are lots of spaces to find, love and make your own, and many in which to meet for sumptuous meals made with fresh local food; the bright, beamed kitchen/breakfast room and pantry make cooking a joy. Gather round the lounge's glowing wood burner with a glass of something fizzy, to reminisce on days of Devonshire adventures. Climb the steepish open-tread stairs to find your bedroom, unwind in a steaming bath or simply admire the elevated rural views. From the twin to the three king-size bedrooms, you'll snooze on cloud nine, wrapped in the green arms of nature; two of the king-size rooms are dual aspect, with views of both wood and moor. The bathroom is a bright white haven to relax in. Unwind in the garden with BBQs and wine, muse a while in the orchard and play in the large field; keep an eye on children and dogs near the open pond and stream. Kids of all ages will love to escape to the barn's secret games room. Or outside, find the moors and tors and lose yourself in wild romance.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We have been to some lovely places, but this was by far the most peaceful. I fell in love with the garden, I have never seen so many bees and other insects and listening to the owls at night while looking at the stars was the icing on the cake. Arthur Pendragon (the bulldog) never been so happy. We plan to return very soon.
