At the end of a half-mile private drive, set in the peace and tranquility of rural Normandy amongst its own fields, La Maison Rurale is the perfect place for a relaxing break.
The 300-year-old property is full of character, with rustic beams, thick stonewalls and an impressive Normandy fireplace adding to its charm. There is a well-equipped kitchen with all the modern appliances you would expect from self-catering accommodation. There is also a stunning, round oak table, which makes a great breakfast area for starting the day. For dinner times though, there is a spacious, characterful dining room with seating for 12 people.
The six, tastefully decorated bedrooms are spread across the first and second floor. Those who claim the bedrooms on the first floor, will enjoy south-facing views over the gardens and fields beyond. There is a family bathroom, as well as two shower rooms, one of which is an en-suite to the master bedroom.
Outside, the pretty, south-facing terrace is a real suntrap and the ideal place to enjoy a glass of French wine or two in the evening. The terrace is covered by vines and features a dining area and BBQ for those sunny summer evenings when you choose to dine outside. Beside the terrace, you’ll have access to a private, outdoor, heating swimming pool (May – October) where you can while away the hours, soak up the sun, read a book and admire the beautiful views of the wooded valley below from the comfort of your lounger.
Just a ten-minute stroll away is the little village of Grimesnil where you’ll find an excellent bar/restaurant offering alfresco meals.
