An oasis of peace dating back to the 18th century, this superb family holiday home occupies a wonderful position nestled in lovely countryside, with uninterrupted views over the beautiful Yar Valley.

This grand, detached property is the perfect secluded spot for a good old family catch up, offering space for an extended family of ten to rest and recharge. Surrounded by extensive grounds and with no neighbours in close proximity, you won't have to worry about disturbing those around you or a broken night's sleep - ideal for groups escaping the city or families with kids and dogs!

Head up the sweeping drive and through the dramatic stone pillars on entrance to this property, which should give you a feel of the magnificence of this home. Utterly spacious rooms offer space for everyone to relax, and antique-style furnishings throughout provide a true rural countryside feel. In the generous living area, you'll find space (and then some) for every member of the family to lounge and watch a film, however a second lounge also offers a TV for those who can't decide on what to watch. Be sure to make use of the dining room and come together for an evening meal, as here you'll find space for all to sit down and eat. You'll also find a more casual breakfast area in the contemporary kitchen, perfect for fuelling up for the day ahead. Further exploring the ground floor, you'll find one double and one twin bedroom, as well as a shower room with WC. The aforementioned second lounge is up on the first floor, providing guests with stunning views across the valley. On this floor, you'll also find a further double bedroom and two twin rooms, all of which benefit from en-suite bathrooms. Heading outside, you'll no doubt find an abundance of space, where a fenced garden offers outdoor furniture, BBQ appliances and surrounding fields where you may see grazing sheep.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

An ideal cottage for a large family. Spacious, warm and we'll equipped. The fully enclosed front garden is ideal for small children and dogs. The central location is perfect for all of the Island's many attractions. The children loved feeding the sheep!

Wonderful family holiday destination. There were 10 of us, 7 adults and 3 children, ages ranged from 4 years to 69 years and everyone had all they needed. The views were outstanding we spent a lot of time in the garden and the sheep were enjoyed by everyone. I would definitely recommend this house for family's as it is spacious enough for everyone Read moreto have their own space without getting under everyone's feet. Hoping to return next year. Hide

We love it here and come back as often as we can

The pictures on the website do not do the cottage justice really. We were a party of four human couples and two dogs. Some people might consider the furnishing old fashioned but we all like it. The place has a homely feel about it. Loads of cookware, pottery and cutlery and more than enough tables and chairs in three rooms. There is a nice upstairsRead more lounge too with a decent enough three piece suite. A massive disappointment was that there was no ghost - in fact the house was not "spooky" at all. Hide
