A stunning property, in a beautiful setting in the Brecon Beacons. Much to see and do from your doorstep and a well presented home, perfect for a special occasion, to return to at the end of your day.

Retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life at this delightful detached barn, set in sleepy Bettws in the breathtaking Brecon Beacons National Park. Enjoy far-reaching views of the rolling hills and mountains as you unwind in the spacious home or within the impressive enclosed grounds. Sleeping 12 across six bedrooms, there's space for everyone, whether you wish to relax beside the wood burner, explore the stunning surroundings or play pool in the games room.

Take in the impressive barn as you enter from the gravelled drive and step into the double-height open-plan lounge/diner which, thanks to floor to ceiling windows, is flooded with natural light and provides a relaxing environment year-round. Steps lead down to a lovely sunroom overlooking the grounds – a wonderful spot to enjoy a good book and a cup of tea on a lazy afternoon. The contemporary country decor continues into the spacious kitchen, which is well-equipped for big gatherings like yours, whether you are cooking up a feast or simply enjoying a few drinks before heading out for the evening. A step leads to the games room and to the two ground-floor bedrooms, while an imposing staircase leads to the first floor and the remaining sleeping accommodations. They lie under characterful exposed A-frame beams just off the impressive landing, which stretches the length of the building. Unwind on the patio and lawn outside and enjoy an al fresco breakfast with your morning coffee or a fun garden party at night. There is ample private parking which includes a carport.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher
  • Utility area with fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Games room with pool table

Put on your walking boots and explore the country and mountain trails from your doorstep, with the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid providing amazing scenery. Hire a canoe or canal boat on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal at Goytre Wharf (11 miles) or try your hand at water sports in Monmouth (23 miles) with paddleboarding or kayaking. For something a little less active, head 1.5 miles to a trio of wonderful local pubs and get to know the friendly locals. The historic town of Abergavenny is 3.5 miles from the property; spend your days wandering around the unique range of shops, coffee rooms, restaurants, or nearby vineyards. If you're lucky with your timing, you might be able to check out one of the town's food festivals or markets and enjoy a taste of Welsh country life. Keen historians, meanwhile, should head to the atmospheric ruins of the 13th-century Llanthony Priory (9.5 miles) – a powerful reminder of medieval Wales.

Dec 27. Stayed in the house for one week, loved every minute we was there. We didn't want leave . Home from home, extremely clean, very spacious and not too far from shops, pubs etc. Would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful cottage with lovely views. For us it wasn't child friendly enough with several stairs down to different levels (we had an 18 month old toddler) Also struggled to find children's activities locally. Despite that we all enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautifully situated barn conversion in a wonderfully peaceful valley on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. The neighbouring properties are close by, especially the converted cider press buildings, but the neighbours are delightfully friendly and welcoming. The host was very helpful and friendly though we never actually met.

This is a fabulous house in a beautiful location, convenient for Crickhowell, Abergavenny and the rest of Brecon district. It is very well equipped for 8-10 adults or a mix of 12 adults and children. Certainly one of the nicest houses we have rented.
