This cottage is the perfect escape for families and groups wanting a quality and stylish base in the heart of this popular Peak District village with an abundance of countryside to explore all around.

If you’re looking for a beautiful and spacious home for a special break with friends and family, look no further than this gem of a property in the heart of the Peak District. Located in the popular village of Longnor, it can accommodate up to 12 people across six bedrooms, five of which are en-suite. Guests of all ages will enjoy challenging each other in the games room, while local pubs and shops are within walking distance. There are some fantastic countryside walks on the doorstep too, making this a great base for exploring the stunning national park.

This delightful property was once a pub and has been renovated to create a stylish and welcoming home. Leather chesterfield sofas in the inviting lounge/diner provide a comfortable spot for your guests to take a seat and put their feet up after a busy day of exploring. Relax in this sociable space after dinner and put on a favourite film or play a board game or two. The large dining table is ideal for gathering everyone together to enjoy a meal and special occasion. One of the bedrooms, a king-size en-suite, is also conveniently located on the ground floor. A couple of steps lead up to the sleek and contemporary kitchen, which is well-equipped to meet all your needs whether you’re whipping up a snack or a hearty meal for the whole group. Challengers will love retreating to the games room which boasts table football, a sofa and a Smart TV - a great place to break away. On the first floor, you’ll find a further three bedrooms, which are each decorated in neutral, calming tones. The two second-floor bedrooms are accessed via their own individual staircases and enjoy lovely countryside views. Mind your head as you step into their en-suite shower rooms, which are accessed under quirky low beams. Head outside with your morning coffee and take a seat in the small courtyard, which is great for enjoying some fresh air. There are roadside spaces outside the property which are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while there is further parking in the village market square, subject to availability.

Longnor has a local shop as well as a craft centre and tearoom. Don’t forget to pack your walking boots so you can explore the many trails which surround the village. Head to the Roaches (8 miles), a prominent rocky ridge which is located high above Leek and Tittesworth Reservoir and is popular with hikers and climbers. Visit the famous Derbyshire spa town of Buxton (7 miles), with its opera house, pavilion gardens and theatre, as well as a wealth of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to discover.

The house was perfect for our group of friends. The location of the house in the centre of the quiet village was excellent and very convenient. Amenities there were perfectly adequate. I would stay here again.

Lovely place to stay in a group. Kids described the house as epic and I think that sums it up! Were already considering a return visit... The surrounding area is ideal for outdoors adventures. The village has the essentials coffee shop, pub and a restaurant/bar. Just check theyre open (quite seasonal). All in all a great place and location.

Overall the property is excellent. Furnished and finished to a high standard. Highly recommended for larger family and friends groups. Lovely little village. Excellent restaurant and friendly pub. Beautiful countryside setting close to wonderful tourist attractions and wonderful walks.

Perfect family break, we stayed at the Horseshoe Inn as a family of ten. The cottage was a very comfortable, warm and spacious accommodation with no expense shared on the furnishing and fittings. The grandchildren loved the games room especially the bar football. As a family this is the best accommodation we have stayed in, it had everything we neeRead moreded.
