Handsome farmhouse property, enjoying a quiet rural location close to the shore of Ullswater in the picturesque Lake District, with watersports and scenic walks on offer locally.
This property is located close to the edge of Ullswater, the second largest lake in the Lake District, where cruise ships run up and down, and a range of watersports are on offer, including sailing, rowing, windsurfing, and angling. At the northern tip of the lake, and just over a mile from the property the village of Pooley Bridge has several pubs to choose from and is also home to a pony trekking centre from where visitors can sign up for treks on nearby Barton Fell. For those who enjoy scenic walks or even more challenging hike, there are some fantastic walks to be had in the local area including on the trails which lead onto the picturesque fells of Place Fell and The Nab.
On arrival at this farmhouse property, guests are able to leave their coats in the entrance hall before continuing on to the first of two lounges, a delightful room with a beamed ceiling, open fire, and two comfortable sofas, as well as a TV/DVD. Heading back into the hallway, a doorway on the opposite side leads through to the second reception room, a spacious lounge/diner with a cosy seating area next to the warming wood burner and a dining table seating eight, next to which doors open out onto the terrace. The kitchen is accessed through this room, a charming dual-aspect room where there is a second dining table, and which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. A convenient shower room with shower and WC can also be found on the ground floor, as can a separate WC. Stairs lead from the hallway up to the first floor, where there are four bedrooms each located off from the long landing. The first of these is a double, which benefits from an en-suite shower room with shower and WC, with the second bedroom also being a double. The third and fourth bedrooms are both charming twin rooms, whilst there is also a bathroom with shower over bath and WC on this floor.
Outside, to the rear of the property, accessed through patio doors in the lounge/diner, there is a lovely sunny terrace with a large table and chairs, providing guests with the perfect spot to sit and enjoy leisurely alfresco meals at the same time as enjoying the breath-taking views to the lake and the fells beyond. There is parking for three cars, with more space available in the farmyard. In addition to this one of the barns can be used for storing bikes, for which guests will need to bring their own padlock.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
