This stylish barn conversion is set in an idyllic, secluded complex, 2 miles from the heart of Launceston, a pretty Cornish town. Stroll around these historic streets before challenging yourselves to a wilder adventure. Nestled between the Cornish coast, Dartmoor National Park, and the Tamar Valley, this property offers you inspiring scenery and endless activities. Head home to the barn and you can unwind in style. Sociable rooms bring classic country elegance and contemporary design together.

The property is reverse level, allowing you to linger in the light as you enjoy time together. Head upstairs and you’re greeted by a vast open-plan living area. With a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and dual aspect windows, light fills this space. Sit cosily around the wood burner in the lounge to share stories from the day. Keep the chef company in the kitchen and when supper’s up, sit around the friendly family dining table to carry on the party. French doors lead out onto your private patio. Here you can enjoy an al fresco meal or BBQ. There are also shared grounds, with a lovely lawn and play equipment so children can let off steam in safety. When sleep calls, head to the bedrooms on the ground level. With two king-size rooms, a double, and a super-king room with en-suite, there are really no losers in this bedroom lottery.

Try Bude (19.5 miles) for a classic sandy stroll. Visit Tintagel (22.5 miles), a stunning village that sits around the crags, caves, and coves of the clifftop. If history is your thing, you can check off your first castle of the trip here. Tintagel Castle sits elevated on the shore and is the site of some very famous history — the legend of King Arthur was said to have originated here. Once separated over two dramatic crags of land, the castle now features a footbridge, taking you in style over the waves. Carry on your fantastical adventure with a trip south along the River Tamar to take in the astonishing sights of the Tamar Valley. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is prime territory for breaking in those walking boots and taking a few holiday snaps to impress friends and family back home. The heart of the valley is 15 miles away.

We have rented cottages in Cornwall for over 20 years and would rate Highland Barn at Goodmansleigh Farm as outstanding. The barn is beautifully converted and equipped and furnished to an excellent standard. It is listed as accommodating up to eight adults; this was reflected in the furnishings, seating, crockery and laundry which is not always theRead more case. Situated on the rural edge of Launceston it is well placed to explore the Cornwall-Devon border, the moors and Cornish coast. Excellent-Thanks Hide
