Situated within the courtyard of a charming hall the farmhouse offers five double en-suite bedrooms, a well proportioned sitting room and a spacious kitchen/diner which is perfect for larger groups.

With old country charm, astounding views and rich history in abundance, make this charismatic farmhouse your own whilst exploring the glorious Peak District. Groups of up to ten friends or family members will never forget this stately stone house, built to last the ravages of time. From abseiling, kayaking and rock climbing to riding, mountain biking and paragliding, this thrilling landscape has so much to offer. Set just 9 miles northeast of Bakewell and 12 miles north of Matlock, and with three wonderful pubs within 2.5 miles, there's also a cornucopia of gastronomic options, including the world-famous Bakewell Pudding. Go Ape at Buxton's Tree Top Adventure (21 miles) or find your buzz at Alton Towers (34 miles). Whilst you soak up the history of enchanting Chatsworth house, kids will love to explore the farmyard and adventure playground (7.5 miles). Aqua fanatics will adore Carsington Water (22 miles), for yachting, canoeing, paddle boarding and windsurfing.

Entering the courtyard through statuesque stone gates, you'll immediately feel a welcoming sense of awe and belonging. Through double doors, step through into the lounge and unwind amidst the wooden beams, tapestries, flagstone floor and cosy armchairs and sofas. The spacious kitchen/diner almost feels like an elegant function room, with its spaces for cooking, relaxing, dining and mingling in style. After adventurous Peak District days and busy nights, unwind in a steaming bath or shower, before finding your beautiful bedrooms. The sunny downstairs bedroom has a fabulous four-poster bed, stone floor and stable door overlooking the courtyard, with an adjoining wet room. Upstairs, the master bedroom has old beams, deep-set windows and gorgeous green views; its en-suite bathroom is a dreamy blend of ancient and modern. Each of the other three bedrooms has its own en-suite and rustic charm, with exposed beams and stonework and some grand period furniture. Savour al fresco feasts in the courtyard and admire the polychrome plumage of passing peacocks. Themed dinner evenings are sometimes held in the adjoining outbuildings.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Great house for parties or large families. Kitchen area superb with all catering needs supplied. Relaxing stay. Stone floors and unfussy furnishings made it great for kids and dog. Very attractive house and surroundings. Needs WiFi and king size beds.

The cottage is at the end of a lane and ideal for country walks not using the car and within a short drive of Longshaw and Chatsworth estates also Castleton and the Derwent dams.

Lovely property with an owner thats really helpful throughout the duration of your stay. Well equipped , peaceful, definitely worth considering for a break in Derbyshire.
