My Sister and I wanted a location to celebrate our father's 80th birthday, and the 4th year anniversary of our Brother's passing. We were looking for a location steeped in history, with local attractions for both our Father and 4 youngsters. To say that Gilar met our expectations is an understatement. Gilar House is magnificent, we really loved it. The location is fabulous and we enjoyed being off the beaten track amongst the fields and the sheep. We really loved the house and at 400 year's old we appreciated the creakiness, wonky walls and imperfections! We would love to return.

Fantastic holiday, beautiful home. We couldnt fault Gilar. The kitchen had everything we needed, the rooms were lovely & comfortable. We walked the dogs for miles in the day & lit the fire in the evenings. We had a picnic at the lake & and climbed Garn Prys from the track from the farm (and Snowdon too). Activities I recommend in the area are ZipwoRead morerld & Adventure Park Snowdonia for adrenaline seekers & Capel Clay in Bala for pottery painting on quieter days. Thanks Gilar, we will be back. This is a great character property and we loved our stay at Gilar House. It is incredibly peaceful and we loved the open fires with plentiful supply of logs, The property is very well equipped and the walks and views straight from the property were great. It is also well placed to access the heart of Snowdonia.
