This remote and beautiful part of Perthshire is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with so many fascinating locations just a short distance away. A variety of low and high-level routes beckon walkers and cyclists alike to venture through these fantastic surroundings. Butterstone Loch is only 1 mile away and is great for walking. Alternatively, Loch of the Lowes is just 3.5 miles away and has a visitor centre and 98 hectares of wildlife reserve to explore. You can witness the star attraction – a pair of breeding ospreys – as well as beavers, otters, red squirrels and more.

5 miles away, outside the lovely village of Dunkeld, sits the impressive Birnam Oak. This tree is estimated to be over 500 years old and is the last standing relic of the Birnam Wood that features in Shakespeare's Macbeth. After visiting this fascinating tree, you could head to Birnam Hill which has a scenic circular walk featuring King's Seat.

A little further away, 9 miles from the property, is Corbenic Poetry Path. With hand-built paths, ancient native woodlands and wild moorlands, this quiet corner of Perthshire inspires a love for the beauty of nature.

Further afield, roughly 20 miles away, you can find several impressive castles to visit that tell a story of the rich Scottish history in this area, such as Castle Menzies, Elcho Castle and Huntingtower Castle. While you explore these historical sites, why not stop at the city of Perth for a meal at an award-winning restaurant or take a walk along the River Tay?

Very comfortable and homely house. Well equipped. We stayed at Easter and the house quickly warmed up. It was lovely having the fire as well. We saw lots of wildlife from the garden. Plenty of space for the extended family. We liked the fact that it was in its own grounds and not overlooked.
