Occupying a commanding position high up on a hilltop above the village and lake, the property has been renovated with large windows and wrap-around terraces to allow you to make the most of the breathtaking views. Sleeping 12 people across six bedrooms, this home has plenty of space for everyone. Its secluded position within 4 acres of private woodland means you can immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the surrounding area, whether that be sharing stories around the fire pit or soaking in the hot tub. With the charming village of Coniston half a mile away, you have shops, eateries and the Boating Centre nearby, yet returning home you’ll feel detached from it all.

Rebuilt around the original cottage, this property has been renovated to an extremely high standard with careful attention to detail. The decor is timelessly elegant with clean lines, cool colours and good-quality fittings blended with some charming original features. The lounge is light and airy with huge windows offering stunning views and an open fire for cooler evenings. Moving through into the exquisite kitchen/diner, there are yet more windows and sliding doors leading out to the terraces, whilst the island offers a great place for social cooking. There is also a utility room. There are six incredible bedrooms across the different floors, all with either an en-suite bathroom or shower room.

Outside, there are terraces surrounding the property for al fresco dining. Within the woods, there is a seating area around a large fire pit and across a glass walkway from the house, there is an outdoor shower and private hot tub.

With endless walking, cycling and rowing opportunities on your doorstep, you don’t need to travel far to appreciate all the area has to offer, but should you want to go further afield, the rest of the Lake District is within relatively easy reach. Hawkshead (4.5 miles) is a delightful, car-free village with cobbled streets to explore, and Near Sawrey (6.5 miles) was once home to Beatrix Potter at Hill Top (now owned by the National Trust); both are worth a visit. For a picturesque breakfast/coffee/lunch, head to the unique riverside cafe and shop at Skelwith Bridge (5.5 miles). If you have fun-loving guests in your party, Grizedale Forest with trails, tree-top adventures and Segway’s is 7.5 miles away. Alternatively, step back in time at Wray Castle (7.5 miles) and enjoy the many activities available, including boat rides from the jetty. Ambleside, Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere are also nearby.

The cottage has the most marvelous setting with full views of Coniston Lake. The dcor is done tastefully and the cottage is well equipped. Would highly recommend this cottage.

The house is spotless and has fantastic views, the gardens are huge and great to walk around. The hot tub is great with the glass walkway bridge and the lighting under the over hanging tree.

Fairsnape is a wonderful property - the views are amazing, and the wrap around slate patio is a great place to spend evenings. The property has been finished to a very high standard, and was spotlessly clean. All of the bedrooms are spacious, with good sized en suites.
