Wander into the local village and pick up some local produce to cook when you get home. The pretty harbour and beach at West Bay (3.5 miles), which featured in the TV series Broadchurch, are definitely worth a trip, while Bridport (1.5 miles) has a great selection of places to eat as well as a good range of shops.

We booked this property so the whole family could be together to celebrate my mum's 80th Birthday. It had everything we needed to make mum's 80th birthday special. Dorset Escape was perfect for our needs. Beautifully styled with a modern elegance that reflected the age & history of the property. All rooms had their own style and character. I would highly recommend this house. It's in a fabulous setting and is extremely well equipped and presented but it's shabby chic so you can relax. The bedrooms have lovely comfy beds and linen. The games room, pool complex, and cinema were a great success with all, but in particular, our grandchildren aged 15, 11, 8, and 5. There is a covered and Read moregated area next to the utility room, which is perfect for drying wet dogs before allowing them in the house. We will definitely book again. Hide

We celebrated a family 60th birthday and had a great time with our family group of 3 generations. The house is big enough to accommodate large groups with plenty of space and was lovely and warm. The Farmhouse and all its facilities were excellent and couldn't fault any of it. Lots of space and the cinema room and indoor swimming pool were a great bonus Highly recommend for families. We were sorry to leave! Sam the housekeeper was incredibly helpful too.

We had an amazing time here. The facilities were great. We were 4 families, all with little ones and we had a great time. There were plenty of local walks for the mornings and then pool & garden in the afternoon. It was a perfect getaway.

We spent a lovely Xmas holiday as an extended family in the cottage. The kids loved the pool and the cinema room, the dining room was fantastic for the 15 of us to eat together, and the dogs enjoyed walking around the estate.

A wonderfully equipped and located property, with a large enclosed garden which all 3 generations of our family enjoyed. The rooms were comfortable, plenty of bathrooms for a large group of people and excellent kitchen facilities, and a barbecue for alfresco meals. An absolutely fantastic farmhouse. So well equipped. Clean and tidy. Swimming pool, sauna and hot tub very well maintained. Lovely temperature and very clean. The garden was beautiful. Perfect area for walking from the house. Everyone thought it was amazing
