This grand and beautifully restored Victorian Mansion with fishing rights and excellent access to the surrounding attractions and natural beauty provides wonderful accommodation for family and friends, our for a small wedding.

This listed Victorian mansion with mesmerising countryside views, is a fantastic backdrop for a special holiday that everyone will remember for years to come. With a grand finish inside and out, including original turrets and parapets, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. And with space enough for the whole group, you can spread out and enjoy being lords and ladies of the manor. By day, enjoy leisurely strolls in the beautiful gardens and mature woodland and by night, light the open fires, tinker on the piano and play a fun round of snooker.

The Great Hall resembles something from a period drama, with an elegant stag surveying the proceedings and portrait paintings adorning the panelled walls. Relax on the comfortable brocade sofas around the open fire or spread out a board game on the oversized coffee table. Musical guests can entertain the others on the piano or organ, and children will be delighted to bang the gong to announce dinner. Those looking for a little peace and quiet can retire to the second sitting room with ample stylish sofas and chairs to curl up in, while older children will enjoy using the full-sized pool table in a sunny third entertaining room. With both an ornate formal dining room and a welcoming family kitchen/diner, there is plenty of choice for meals. The large kitchen has everything a holiday group needs, including a gas range oven and dishwasher, plus a utility room with extra fridge/freezer. Up the elegant stairs from the Great Hall, the four double bedrooms are arranged along a galleried landing, along with a twin room offering an additional small single bed. All have either an en-suite or Jack and Jill bathroom and there is a further sixth double bedroom if required for an extra charge. Outside, fire up the BBQ and let the children loose on the play equipment before enjoying a family meal alfresco at the marble table and a game of cricket as the sun sets.

North of Inverness lies the Highlands town of Alness, located on the northern shore of the Cromarty Firth. Boasting a idyllic river and beautiful surroundings, it's a quintessentially Scottish haven with plenty to surprise and delight even the most seasoned of travellers. The town is home to two distilleries, a golf club and plenty of pretty shops perfect for whiling away an afternoon.

If you prefer bracing walks across rugged terrain, there are several routes to satisfy your sense of adventure, as well as a few gems for those who prefer a gentle amble. A short 4.5-mile drive will bring you to the start of the Fyrish trail, a pleasant hike along a well-maintained path with sloping stone steps, tall trees and rolling hills. The Fyrish Monument stands proudly at the top, a majestic landmark that's an ideal spot for a picnic as well as being a brilliant photo opportunity.

Venturing slightly further along the coastline, the port town of Invergordon 3.5 miles away has impressive views across to the Western Beins and Black Isle, and an interesting history to match. The area was of significant naval importance during the first and second world wars, which you can learn more about in the charming museum. Stop for a bite to eat in one of the charming cafes or treat yourself to a delicious ale from the local brewery.

Dalmore House is epic. Perfect location for the 13 of us to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. In its own substantial grounds with easy access to lots of walks. Close to Alness town (walkable) with farm shop, supermarkets, takeaways and pubs all nearby. Thanks to the owner for putting us on to Willie the piper!!
