Château en Provence is in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France, a short distance from the beautiful town of Aix-en-Provence, known simply as Aix.

Set within five-acres of elegantly arranged landscape gardens, stunningly situated adjacent to the ruins of the old XVII century palace of Archbishop Grimaldi with views of Saint Victoire. Perfect for celebrations and family gatherings, this luxurious holiday property accommodates up to 22 guests in comfort across 11 bedrooms with eight bathrooms.

The tranquil grounds include an ornamental fountain and pond, an olive grove, tennis court and outdoor swimming pool. Additional features include a billiard table and facilities to play blackjack and French boules. Guests have use of an on-site chapel for weddings, a unique and beautiful opportunity. Château en Provence also can be hired out as a corporate venue. There is Wi-Fi and Internet connection throughout the house and the use of office equipment is available for visitors.

LOCAL AREA: Château en Provence is situated within easy driving distance of the regional capital of Aix-en-Provence, including the lovely Cassis, St Croix, and Carry le Rouet. Aix-en-Provence is a small, classically Provençal town, famous for being home to the artist Paul Cézanne. The recent addition of a TGV (high-speed train) station has made the town a popular holiday destination. It now an interesting shopping destination as well as being a cultural centre. Typical of many Provençal towns, the city centre consists of narrow streets, lined with interesting buildings from 17th century hotels and paved plazas.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY: There are a number of excellent Michelin-star awarded restaurants within a 10-minute drive of the accommodation including; Hôtel de Caumont, La Closerie in Ansouis and La Feniere in Lourmarin. There are also many other choices for the gastronome, be it a relaxed brasserie or a simple delicatessen. In addition, why not visit the lovely (and very tempting) local markets in Cucuron and Lourmarin for a real taste of local cuisine. There is a local general shop in Cucuron and the big hypermarkets can be found in Pertuis, only 20 minutes away. There is a number of beautiful golf courses in the area, including Pont Royal and Luberon Golf too. One can cycle and walk directly from the house up into the Luberon Hills. Also visit Cathedrale St. Sauveur, Mossy Fountain, Pavillion de Vendôme, or pay respects at Paul Cezanne’s cenotaph. Other attractions within driving distance is Cassis, Vieil Aix, Le Granet Museum, Silvacane Abbey, and L’Eglise St. Jean-de-Malte.
