The Chateau was built in 1856 for the family Querqui in the Renaissance style of the Chateau Confort. Designed for the comfort of an extended family with several generations living together - as was typical in the grand families of France - whilst now open to groups of families and friends to enjoy, it still retains a warm and welcoming homely atmosphere.

Lovingly restored and sustained over the ages, there are plenty of charming character features within the chateau that give some insight into its historic past, including panelled walls, original floors and high corniced ceilings. The entire building flows, with no redundant spaces – offering a myriad of places to enjoy and sprawl into, in comfort.

Chateau de Vendee can accommodate up to 18 people plus four infants across eight bedrooms. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms with en-suites – one of which features a four poster bed and a large family suite which houses a vast double bedroom with four poster bed and a twin room. The suite has an en-suite WC and basin and there is also a family bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor.

On the second floor is a large double bedroom with en-suite WC and hand basin; a small double bedroom with en-suite WC and hand basin and an opulent room with large double bed and en-suite (in the tower) which would have originally been created for the man of the house. This floor also features an ornate suite which originally would have been for the lady of the house – it boasts a double four poster bed, a double bed and a seating area. The unique feature of this room is the fireplace which is situated in the window.

Decorated with antique furniture, the elegant bedrooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, an LCD TV and a DVD player. They also have a garden view.

Other appealing internal rooms and facilities include a vast entrance hall with grand marble columns and stucco walls, a panelled dining room, bright lounge area, bar-library room, a well-equipped kitchen and a utility area.

Outside in the mature gardens, the property also features a heated pool and BBQ area.
