This luxury penthouse is the perfect choice for a skiing holiday near the Portes du Soleil. Centrally located in the mountain village of La Chapelle D'Abondance, which is home to some handy shops, including an artisan bakery you are well placed to go skiing with ease.

The layout of the penthouse is divided over two levels and accommodates 16 guests across five bedrooms. The accommodation offers a large fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas and a supply of logs perfect for relaxing in the evenings. For socialising and relaxation après ski you can enjoy the mezzanine games rooms which comes complete with a full-sized pool table, 50" flat-screen TV with DVD player and satellite channels.

The closest ski lifts are Cret Beni and Pantiaz, with the latter linking in with the rest of the Portes du Soleil network-650km of pistes. Alternative, more popular lifts including Avoriaz are a 15-minute drive away. There are several fine restaurants in the village if you wish to have a night off from self-catering, and a micro-brewery offering happy hour après-ski evenings. Large patio doors open from several rooms onto balconies overlooking the pistes. From here you can watch torch-lit descents or even take part in one yourself!

SLEEPS 16: 5 bedrooms in total for 16 guests; The Mont de Grange, is the first of three bedrooms on the lower level, offering a queen double bed, plus additional single; the beds in Mont Chauffe, can be arranged as a queen double bed or twin, there are also 2 additional singles within; the third bedroom is the Chatel, also with a queen double bed and an additional single. Upstairs on the top floor are the fourth and fifth bedrooms; Cret Beni with its king-size bed and 2 additional singles, and Cornettes; with a king-size bed which can also be made up into twins, and 2 additional bunk beds.

COOK + DINE: The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay with range hob and oven, fridge freezer, coffee machine and dishwasher. As well as the kitchen table and bar, the dining space has a large table with seating for 16 guests.

RELAX: The Penthouse has a large fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. Guests are provided with an initial supply of logs. For socialising and relaxation après-ski you can enjoy the mezzanine games room which comes complete with a full-sized pool table, 50" flat-screen TV with DVD player and satellite channels.

BATHE: 4 en-suite shower rooms and 1 shower room.

OUTSIDE: Parking for 2 cars is provided and lift access to the Penthouse. Downstairs there is an extra large heated boot room to store equipment and ensure everything is dry for the next day. Parking for 2 cars.

PLAY: Full-sized pool-table in the mezzanine games room

Whilst it is possible to travel around with public transport, a car is recommended to get to many of area’s lifts. Found deep within the southern mountainous region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, La Chapelle D'Abondance is a typical traditional-style French mountain village.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY: There are several top-quality restaurants in the village if you wish to have a night off from self-catering, and a micro-brewery offering happy hour après-ski evenings. Large patio doors open from several rooms onto balconies overlooking the pistes. The accommodation is reasonably close to the French border with Switzerland, and Mont Blanc, the highest peak in The Alps and the tallest in Europe which is a 2-hour drive away via Chamonix.
