  • A tranquil and secluded Grade II listed farmhouse in beautiful surroundings for fantastic walks and bike rides
  • A fantastic property, ideal for a large family or group
  • Within easy reach of glorious sandy beaches and many attractions on the Isle of Anglesey
Property code: CAEMR

Nestling in the heart of the Welsh countryside, this spacious and beautiful Grade II listed farmhouse sits within a 7 acre smallholding and makes a fantastic destination for a family get-together.

Combining rough-luxe features with contemporary nuances, this Grade II listed farmhouse manages to be both spacious yet cosy, traditional yet unequivocally stylish. Located near the northern coast of the wildly beautiful island of Anglesey, there is a relaxed and homely feel to this escape-from-it-all cottage. Sleeping ten people over five bedrooms, whisk away your favourite people and enjoy a break filled with spectacular sunrises over the distant mountains of Snowdonia, sandy-toed beach strolls, wild swims and plenty of attractions for the young-in-years and young-at-heart. With space for your two dogs too, the whole family can celebrate a special occasion or unique get-together.

As calming inside as the coastline is dramatic, this family-sized retreat adopts light, warm hues to create soothing spaces throughout. Exposed beams, an original fireplace and stone sills and floors strikingly contrast with the plush furnishings and delicate final touches, all combining to encourage lots of happy hours spent squirrelled away in your new home-from-home. The real heart of the home, the large kitchen/diner is generously equipped with all you could need for your daily routine, topped off with a toasty Rayburn oven, handy dishwasher and TV. Pour glasses of wine as you congregate in the kitchen, chatting over nibbles and simmering pots and pans. When all is ready, the large dining area has seating for all your family and friends and is the perfect grand table for conversation and cuisine. Later on, gather in the cosy lounge for winter nights made warmer by the crackling wood burner, or on balmy summer evenings, head outside for a sundowner in the enclosed garden as the setting sun throws crimson and apricot streaks across the sky. Once the kids are tucked away in bed and the dogs are snoring, pop open a bottle of fizz and chat away long after the inky blues of night have cloaked the surrounding fields.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Set on a rural smallholding
  • 5 bedrooms - 2 king-size with TV, 1 twin, 1 king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twin beds on request) with wood burner, and 1 super king-size (which can be made into twin beds on request)
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 wet room with hand held-shower over bath, separate shower and WC, and 2 en-suite shower rooms with WC
  • Kitchen with Rayburn oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and TV
  • Lounge with wood burner (first basket of logs included) and TV/DVD
  • Snug with TV/DVD, books, games and bean bags
  • Enclosed garden with raised lawn area, garden furniture and BBQ
  • Electric and underfloor heating included
  • Wi-Fi included
  • 2 dogs welcome, use of outside kennel if required
  • Washing machine and dryer available
  • Selection of indoor and outdoor games provided
  • Beach, shop and pubs 3 miles

Occupying a quiet nook of a 7-acre smallholding, there are plenty of rural walks right from your doorstep. Lace your boots and follow pastoral paths or venture coast-ward for salt-kissed days. 16.5 miles away, Benllech beach is a popular choice with powdery golden sand lapped by clear blue waters. Closer-by, Camaes Bay (3 miles) is home to a quaint seaside village and a sandy beach that is great for sailing and surfing, although doggy restrictions do apply in summer. Pack a cool box and bag your spot on the sand or find a scenic perch along the Anglesey Coastal Path, keeping an eye out for dolphins playing in the waves.

Really well equipped, kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Great for the children (they loved the unexpected toys!) and dogs really enjoyed the garden. Friendly reception from Cath. Superb bath!

This cottage worked well for a large group. The outdoor kennel is no longer available and the owner said we should have been informed. The owner is enlarging the garden area and turning creating an outdoor games room which will add to the properties appeal

We had a warm welcome from Cath up at Cae Mawr and she had very kindly put away our online shopping . After explaining how everything worked we were left to explore. I loved the old cottage built early 1800 and the extension provided plenty of rooms and a huge kitchen. We found the kitchen to be very well stocked with everything we could need. A great mix of traditional and contemporary accommodation with lots of space inside and out. Well equipped to a good standard. The location gives a great sense of getting away from it all but is only a short trip to local amenities.

Lovely holiday home, very high stardard of cleanliness and comfort. Its a very quiet location on a farm with beautiful countryside views and animals to feed. Our grandson was very taken with not putting waste food in the bin but giving it to the piglets. Owners are friendly and very helpful. Very good beach just two miles away. Throughly recommend.
