Perfect for large groups, whether a family reunion, stag party, hen party or a celebratory get-together, spend days exploring the Lake District National Park and evenings warming toes in front of the crackling open fire at this charming cottage. Sleeping eight in five bedrooms, three furry friends are welcome too, so the whole family can stay together. With great walks straight from the cottage and access to water sports at the nearby Lake Windermere, both soul-soothing tranquillity and heart-pumping adventures are abundant in equal measure, keeping everyone happy!

Pleasant and welcoming inside, warm tones complement retro decor throughout the property, with homely touches such as the stacked bookshelves in the living space making this a welcoming home-from-home. Designed to make the interiors suitable for a party of eight, clever space-saving solutions are at play here. The dining area behind the main seating area has a fold-out table, ensuring that there is plenty of space when meals are not being eaten, and the utility room is useful for dumping all the outside clobber - eight pairs of wellies can take up a lot of space! After a busy day, settle all together in the living room for a film or perhaps a board game, cosy in front of the roaring open fire. The bedrooms are simple and bright, with relaxing tones for a restful night’s sleep, and older guests will benefit from the two accessible ground-floor bedrooms and the family bathroom. Upstairs, find a double room, a twin and single as well as a shower room. In the morning, enjoy a coffee in the light and airy kitchen or perhaps take a stroll in the beautiful spacious rear garden that’s bursting with shrubs and trees, waking up with the birdsong. To the front of the property, there is a gated driveway with parking for up to three cars, and guests are able to use the property’s garage to securely store bikes.

Cottage is decent - biscuits, chocolate, tea & coffee on the side as welcome gift. A bit tatty - strong odour from the open fire smell can be described as a strong unpleasant smoked bacon odour even though we didn't use it as it was missing a coal guard. Garden is NOT dog friendly if your dog has to be on a lead. Garden turns into a mud pit during Read morethe rainy days. Drive way is very narrow and steep. Lots of bedrooms and toilets which is great. Heating throughout which kept us very warm. Hide

Black Fell is a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in a great location. It had ample room for our large party of 6 and a dog. The views from the lounge were stunning no matter what the weather and the garden is fully enclosed. It makes a great base to explore the local lakes of Windermere, Coniston and Tarn Hows and Hawkshead is minutes from theRead more cottage (great fish & chip shop!). Hide

This cottage has decent sized bedrooms, modern bathrooms and wonderful views. The garden has a little stream at the bottom and is perfect for a dog. Very quiet location. The location is perfect for Coniston and Hawkshead with plenty of walks to do. Wed definitely return.

The location of the house is perfect and the views out the livingroom windows were amazing. Bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were brilliant - however the livingroom really let's the house down. It's tired with scrapes and holes in the plaster. Would stay again due to location - a little face lift to the livingroom would be the icing on the cake
