After tiring days spent exploring the surrounding countryside, return to this homely bolt hole for a relaxing evening beside the roaring open fire in the drawing room. With ample sofas and armchairs, there is plenty of room for everyone to spend quality time together whether that’s watching a DVD, satellite TV or playing board games. Prepare meals in the good-sized kitchen, which is equipped with a large range oven and chest freezer, before dining in style in the formal dining room. Ideal for celebrating special occasions with friends and family, this room is furnished with an antique table, chairs and sideboard. When it’s time for bed, rest weary heads in the delightful bedrooms, all of which are decorated in tasteful neutral tones with pretty pictures and antique furniture. With plenty to see and do without the need of a car, this is a brilliant choice for families. Set out on foot to explore the glorious Benmore Estate, starting with the quaint sandy beach at the bottom of the garden. Get closer to the water by taking a rowing boat out on the loch, which can be arranged in advance, or try your hand at fly fishing. Keen walkers should be sure to take on the twin peaks of Conival and Ben More, before stopping in for a refreshing drink at Benmore Lodge or a hearty meal at The Oykel Bridge Hotel (10.5 miles). For amenities, visit the nearby towns of Ullapool (24.5 miles) and Lochinver (26 miles), where you will find a good choice of shops, restaurants and cafes.

Great for a family holiday, very secluded location. Make sure you have all your supplies, nearest shop over 20 miles away. The house is fully furnished packed with books and dvds. Great kitchen dining area.

Benmore Lodge is a fantastic getaway location. Very remote setting facing the most beautiful Loch you could imagine. The lodge is fully equipped with everything you could need and help is on hand should you need any assistance. The nearest town is 26 mile away so you need to be prepared and organised. Very spacious and comfortable accommodation, veRead morery well stocked kitchen and large supply of books, dvds and games. Highly recommend getaway to escape and recharge your batteries Hide

Big warm house, spotlessly clean, large drying room, lovely beds, amazing views, kitchen was fantastic, ideal for socials and a catch up after a day on the hills. I'm not sure I've had a better view to wake up to - fish rising on the loch, Jay out walking the Ponies and Bruce's dogs diving about on the heather?
