An attractive chateau set close to the border of Lot et Garonne and the Dordogne, Au Paradis Bleu’s pretty shutters and warm stone frontage belie its elegant, authentic French interior.
Au Paradis Bleu sleeps 14 guests across 7 bedrooms which offer flexible bed arrangements to suit your party make up. The chateau can be rented with three further gites within the grounds to sleep an additional 10 people across 5 bedrooms (including two additional swimming pools).
The chateau itself was built in 1780 for the Cardinal of Argen, with modern renovations having transformed it into comfortable and spacious holiday accommodation. The large, open-plan kitchen and living area promote communal living, with a traditional wood burner at one end creating a cosy, homely feel. The standout features of the kitchen are a double range oven, American fridge freezer and spacious granite worktops, making it the ideal place to cook up a delicious meal.
Enjoy a snack or breakfast sitting at the kitchen island or sit your whole party around the dining table for a convivial meal.
Families and friends will enjoy the numerous reception spaces, including a drawing room with piano, well-stocked library and games room with snooker table.
Outside, the 20-acre garden and fields offer yet more opportunity for relaxation. The chateau overlooks its large heated swimming pool with terrace and open-fronted tobacco barn alongside providing shaded seating and a table tennis table. Fig trees in raised beds, lavender plants, and buddleja add to the relaxing atmosphere.
Linger over your evening meals at the open-air dining table, as you enjoy the effect of the evening light on the pond, fields and open countryside beyond. Three stone-built barbecues invite you to make the most of the great outdoors.
In the summer, the chateau is cool and welcoming, offering respite from the sunshine and inspiring relaxation.
