For those who love the great outdoors, this area offers a wealth of different activities. There are plenty of mountains, glens and forests to explore in this area whether you're on two feet or two wheels, whilst climbers, fishing enthusiasts, photographers, canoeists and golfers will also be at home here. Glenshee (20 miles), in particular, is a great centre for all outdoor pursuits, including winter sports. For walkers, The Cateran Trail is a route that takes you through the history and heritage of Perthshire and Angus and it passes through Bridge of Cally. For experienced Munro-baggers there are also a few of those in the area to help improve your tally. If you're keen to observe or photograph the beautiful Scottish wildlife, head to Loch of Lowes Visitor Centre (15 miles) where you'll see ospreys, red squirrels and woodpeckers to name but a few. A little closer to the house is Persie Gin Distillery (2.5 miles), a small distillery set up in 2014 making handmade, bespoke gin for connoisseurs. Blairgowrie (6 miles), one of the largest towns in Perthshire, is worth a visit. It is a busy town with plenty of shops and eateries to choose from, as well as a couple of museums.
