The castle stands triumphant amongst sweeping lawns and manicured shrubs, its turrets and tower creating a majestic vibe. Inside, each room is brimming with sophisticated charm with traditional furniture and antique artwork. The first two floors are dedicated to socialising, where guests can gather together for some healthy competition in the marvellous playroom or snooker room with darts board, or choose between the drawing room and library to relax with a nightcap. The fantastic kitchen is delightfully equipped for preparing a feast, complete with a rustic table for leisurely breakfasts. The dining room is a treat for the senses, or perhaps you would prefer dining al fresco, sizzling something special on the BBQ. The bedrooms are elegant and comfortable, dressed in deliciously crisp linen, including an irresistible master bedroom boasting a four-poster bed and stairs leading down to an en-suite. A further double bedroom has a wrought iron bath and twin enamel basins, and the remaining bedrooms share a main bathroom on the second floor as well as a smaller one upstairs on the third floor. The house is spectacular and the location wonderful. The housekeeper is most helpful and all the people we encountered during our stay were welcoming and helpful. We were lucky with the weather and so made good use of the tennis, the croquet, the barbaque as well as the indoor facilities. The scorching heat on the Sunday drove many down to the riveRead morer where it was shallow enough even for the 4 year old to enjoy paddling under supervision. Beware - no showers. Hide
